Introduction: I am a graduate of Liberty University and Northwest Nazarene University.  I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work.  I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with an emphasis in addiction and mental health. I am trauma certified in the state of Idaho and am trained in the EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy for trauma and other challenging personal issues. I am a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT). I have been working in the field of spiritual and emotional well-being for women, families and children for over 20 years. I am currently working on developing my private practice at Safe Haven Counseling Center and I am taking new clients.  As you make your way through life, I am here to provide a compassionate, warm, non-judgmental space for you to better understand yourself and the journey that God has set before you.  You may be experiencing difficulty in a relationship, or suffering from depression or anxiety.  You may have questions about your identity, or are trying to make sense of past trauma or abuse.  What ever your situation, I am committed to walking alongside you as you work through difficult issues. I can meet in person or conduct sessions via Skype for your convenience. My Goal as a Christian Counselor My primary goal is to offer a safe place for people to share their story.  I want to help people feel comfortable to be fully honest with themselves about where they have come from and where they want to go. I seek to engage and challenge my clients, inviting them to take an active role in their redemptive story, all for the purpose of becoming more of who they were created to be. What I Offer in Christian Counseling I believe that God intended peace, love, and community for his people. However, sin is very much a part of all of our lives and has made finding peace, love, and community difficult. In navigating through hurtful relationships, unjust circumstances, and even personal shortcomings, I offer an empathetic, non-judgmental, and compassionate approach. I’m highly relational and am committed to holding hope for people when they may not be able to see it for themselves. My Approach to Christian Counseling My approach as a Christian counselor is to help my clients understand their own story and how it impacts others as well as how it impacts themselves. I will help you identify patterns in your life and work with you to change and adapt those patterns in order to become a more balanced, healthy individual.  God has created each person in His image and no two stories are alike, therefore your story has profound meaning, for you, for others, and in God’s redemptive plan.

I have never gone to counseling before and had no real idea of expectations. Tina was very easy to talk to and she provided me with great advice, and helped me work through the toughest time of my life. I would definitely recommend Tina to my family and friends or anyone who is in need.

Tina was so helpful to me during a very difficult time. She is friendly and empathetic and I instantly felt comfortable talking to her about sensitive issues. I always felt like she really cared about my well-being and was available if I needed someone to talk to or advice. I also appreciated the Christian perspective she is able to offer. I highly recommend her!
