Dr. Valk has a very flexible schedule which has been very helpful for our busy life. He has been such a positive influence on my son’s learning and his confidence in his math abilities have continued to thrive in his one-on-one tutoring setting. Additionally, Dr. Valk provides lesson feedback and notes to my son's teacher and is able to have a good line of communication with her. Our son finds his unique ability to explain the topics very clearly and ability to show different ways of solving the questions very helpful. Dr. Valk's communication to us and his teacher have been instrumental in helping our son progress in his math classes. He actually said, "mom, I'm starting to like math". This is big for a student who has always dread math class. We are so very pleased with the progress he's made.
Trevor is tutoring my daughter in 9th grade geometry. She finds his teaching very easy to understand and has greater confidence going into tests. It's also very easy to reach him for schedule changes if necessary.
My son desperately needs help with his math work. Pat has been available, responsive, and works well with my son. I recommend him for Algebra tutoring.
Chema has been tutoring our daughter in the math and sciences and he has helped her tremendously to advance her knowledge and understanding and improve her grades! She said that she has learned more from Chema than any of her teachers, which tells us that we made the right choice!
Is Ian still tutoring? AH
Chris is awesome! He has been so helpful and patient in teaching me college algebra
Herb has been tutoring our teenage son for the past two years. Our son lacked confidence in his math skills, but he earned a solid B in algebra last year and now in geometry thanks to Herb. In addition, our son enjoys the sessions. Herb is clear, methodical, and personable. He has given our son greater confidence and skills in math.
Dan was an exemplary teacher at my school for two years. He taught our high school math courses to a diverse group of students in an engaging, understandable, and motivating way. The students and staff were sad to see him go. He is one of the best math teachers with whom I have had the pleasure of working. He is committed, professional, and passionate in all he does for students.
Mathnasium is a phenomenal place! I am currently a senior at the University of Idaho and these guys were able to help me out with 400 level math classes! I had met with other private tutors who could not help me. Mathnasium is the reason I passed those classes! Thank you!

As a tutor, I have gotten great feedback from both students and other tutors. One tutor listened as I was explaining key ideas from Moby Dick to a student. Afterwards, she said, "If I had had a teacher like that I would have enjoyed school more." I try to be encouraging and creative when I tutor. I include visuals, word pictures, analogies to explain concepts. I also am passionate about learning new things and love to see students succeed, and I think that gets communicated through my time with them. With writing, I love good stories. I have read a lot since I was a kid and have taught writing, graded writing, and fine tuned the way I think about writing over the years. For me, it's important to say something clearly, concisely, and in a memorable way. In short, to say it/write it well. Because communication is such a big part of the way we do relationships and business, I strive to learn every day and work hard to communicate my own ideas effectively and help others to do the same.
I teach according to the student's needs and my main motivation is charity. Seeing a student happy because he or she learned something new. I love it when their eyes beam because something made sense in their brain!
During the time I taught English and Spanish, my students rated well above the average at the end of each academic year. As a result of my record in teaching, I was appointed the Head of th English Dept. in the Papillion-LaVista Schools in Papillion/LaVista, NE My passion has always been teaching. My first teaching assignment was in Buhl, ID, where I taught Spanish I, II, III, and IV. It was the start of the audio/lingal method of teaching, and, the students learned to speak, read, and write the language. From there, I was assigned a poition at East JR. High School in Boise, ID, where I taught English, Spelling, Grammar, and Spanish to 8th and 9th grade students. After three years, I met my husband who was an Air Force officer. We eventially married and moved to California. Most of my life from this time on was devoted to raising my children and supporting the career of my Air Force husband. Once we moved to NE, I, again returned to my career as a teacher. Pamela J. Bain
