Introduction: This is not a "job" for me. Photography is my passion. I try and make the experience personal for each client and find out what you want in your photos. I am not a cookie-cutter photographer. I like to know why you want the photos, what you want out of the images you receive and what makes you, YOU. Ensuring that people are comfortable during the photo session and providing positive feedback gives confidence to the subject being photographed - and confidence is a beautiful thing. What I enjoy and am passionate about this type of "work" that I do, is how it evokes emotions from an experience or time in life that we want to remember. Photography brings people together - I've seen it time and time again with weddings and family photos. After my firs two sessions with Karen I only had good things to say about her and her photos. However, my recent experience in trying to get a canvas print of a family photo has been so frustrating and disappointing that I cannot ignore it. Every single one of the “high quality images” from my family shoot with Karen is extremely blurry when printed any larger than an 8x0. When viewed on my computer the photos are much more blurry than any other professional photos I have had taken, even more blurry than photos taken from my iPhone! I informed Karen of the problem and she has refused to admit that there even is an issue or do anything about it other than offer to re-shoot the photos. A re-shoot would have been great months ago when I suspect she noticed my images were blurry during editing—they are so blurry that there is no way she edited these photos and did not notice a problem. Instead, I believe she gave me the images anyway, even though they are out of focus, and just hoped I would not order large prints. Now it is far too late to get these moments and these photos back. This is extremely unprofessional and dishonest behavior for anyone offering a photography service. Karen was also very unresponsive when I tried to get answers and a solution to this problem from her. It took me weeks to get responses from her and even after over two months of explaining this issue and trying to find answers and a solution, I am left with nothing but blurry, unusable photos and money wasted on a poor photo shoot. Karen should have handled this problem MUCH better than she did. If she was unable to fix the photos so I could purchase a clear, unblurry canvas then she should have apologized and refunded my money since I did not get what I paid for. An offer of a reshoot months after the fact from a photographer who messed up your photos and didn’t admit it or tell you about it is worthless. I would never trust Karen with any photography again.

Jennifer is a scorned woman...it shows because she never used Thumbtack to secure my services. She secured my services last fall for family photos which were in October 2014. Not until late February 2015 did she notify me of a photo that was pixilated (four months after the fact). After trying to resolve the issue with her with several Facebook messenger messages, I offered her a re-shoot as I did not know why this one photo she wanted a canvas of was pixilated. She refused. She wanted a refund of the session fee. She received several images and had printed several of her images and placed them in frames (according to her messages through Facebook to me), without a single complaint about them. We have been in communication over this for nearly two months. There was one photo she wanted a canvas print and she stated it was pixilated. She chose to get prints from an outside vendor that I know nothing about and I can not guarantee quality when a client does this...if she had read and signed my contract, she would have known this information. I did go above and beyond by consulting other photographers about the issue and could not figure out the problem. I offered her a re-shoot several times and she refused. She wanted a full refund. She never signed my contract that I sent her as it clearly states timelines for issues and refund policies. She is a vindictive woman as she has sunk to having her family members (who I have never photographed or met), leave poor ratings of my work all because I will not refund her the session fee after she has downloaded and printed several of the images. She is wanting free images and it is sad she is stooping to that level. I tried to fix the problem by offering her a re-shoot since she there was ONE image that was pixilated and she was not satisfied. I have never had this kind of issue with a client before and I have photographed hundreds of people. She is an extremely difficult and demanding person who is not satisfied unless she receives something for free. My amazing reviews and hundreds of satisfied clients tell a different story. I wish her all the best and hope she can find a photographer that will meet her expectations.

Wow! I am so impressed in Karen's work and her ability to communicate with me and my family when we were having our photos taken. We hired her to take our family photos which were long overdue. She made not only my kids comfortable, but my husband comfortable too and he does not like to have his photos taken. Karen is so easy going and she explained everything which made the entire process easy. And oh, the photos! Wow, again. Top quality work and I am excited to show off the photos of my beautiful family that are displayed on my wall. This was such a great experience and I would highly recommend Karen with Captures.
