Handyman

Andrew did a fine job on a tricky project and was pleasant and easy to work with. His going rate is posted at $50/hr, he bid our job at twice that fee and upon completion did not offer to adjust the bid to closer to his actual time spent. Disappointed in that but we did agree to the bid unaware of what his original planned estimated time was as he did not physically see the job prior to starting. We wanted to help out a local handyman and are satisfied with the results.
Birds Eye View's reply
Hi Tina, Thanks so much for giving me a review I really appreciate it. I just wanted to clarify a misunderstanding in your review. My listed hourly rate is for items where I do 1-2 or 3 hrs worth of work like switching a light fixture out, changing filters, hanging a few pictures and things like that. To me those are typical "handyman" type jobs. Your particular job was changing a countertop from on height to a lower hight, not in the same category as those mentioned above. From the beginning I gave you a lump sum price to do the job not by the hr. That is for anything that is an extra cost. I'm sorry for the confusion I will double check that is understood the next time. Thanks again for the review.

What can I say about Andrew? He does it all, builds houses, builds decks in two days (just waiting on one piece of Trex in the picture), added wainscoting to my living room with a 16’ shelf to create a gallery wall, paints, and installed all new trim in my whole house... the list could go on and on. He is very resourceful, worked in the construction world but now flies for the airlines which allows him to do handyman jobs on the side. Every job he has done turned out better than I imagined. A great handyman, can fix almost anything, and always does it better than I could.

Andrew was great to work with and did an excellent job. We had started the removal of our kitchen soffit and Andrew came in to finish the wall & ceiling. He was quick to respond, prompt, worked extremely hard, and did great work.

We hired Andrew to help us get our new home detailed out and get art and mirrors up. We definitely under-utilized his extensive abilities, but he did a beautiful double coat paint out for our textured garage, and hung numerous and varied valuable pieces of artwork and mirrors not of the ‘just drive a nail type’. He works fast, accurate and clean; personable guy too. He’ll be our new ‘go-to’ guy for everything.
