Environmental consulting is an extremely competitive and cut-throat business. Everyone thinks they are the best. Be sure that when comparing pricing, that you are getting A) What you need as set forth by any internal policies and B) You are comparing apples to apples. Be sure that if you have two Scope of Work Proposals form competing firms, the Scope of Work matches. We have seen all too often when a client gets a quote, they simply look at price and not the work that's going to be performed. It's surprising how many firms aren't doing the assessments the clients think they are getting.
