Introduction: I focus on every aspect of the face through defining brows, contouring and highlighting facial features, applying lashes with precision, creating eyeshadow looks that make the eyes stand out, etc. I'm also very detail-oriented. You will never find me trying to rush through a session just to finish. I take my time because I have a good time doing what I love - makeup! Ami did a phenomenal job! I had a diverse wedding party and she was able to provide glamorous looks for each person. Days after the wedding, we are still talking about how well we all looked. Ami is a master at her craft and I highly recommend her for any event.

Ami was amazing to work with!! She was so quick to respond and answered all my questions in a kind, professional manner. She was super flexible with coordinating dates and times for the trial. I didn’t end up having the wedding as planned because of COVID, but based on what she did for the trial, I know that everyone would have been so happy with the turnout. Highly recommend!!!

When I was looking for someone to do my makeup for my wedding, I turned to Thumbtack. I expressed interest in a few makeup artists. Ami was the first one to respond. She was open to answer any questions. She was open to phone calls. Ami was not pushy at all. She clearly takes pride in her craft. The day of the wedding, Ami did my makeup as well as my daughters and a friend. She listened to what our preferences were (I.e. colors, lashes, etc.). We were all SO pleased with how we looked. She’s is a gifted makeup artist. I would go back to her in a heartbeat.

Ami was probably one of the most professional people I've worked with. She sent a detailed schedule for when my bridesmaids would need to get their hair and makeup done and she STUCK TO IT! Some of the girls were even done early. Everyone looked stunning and my six bridesmaids kept telling me how impressed and happy they were with her service. I get asked a lot if I offer hair as well. YES, I work with a team of both hairstylists and makeup artists.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I watch a lot of makeup artists on YouTube. I also try to go to as many makeup artistry workshops that are being offered around my Chicagoland area. Utilizing a little bit of everyone's techniques and never being closed minded is the best way to grow as a makeup artist. I'm also attending Tricoci University as a licensed esthetician/makeup artist, and I graduate October 2018.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always thought it was so amazing to see these makeup transformations on What Not To Wear. I would practice on my mom as a little girl but never thought I'd be as good as the artists on the show. One day I came across a makeup artist named Makeup Geek on YouTube. She was so inspiring because I saw how much she was inspiring all her viewers. I learned the foundation of what I needed to know from her on how to apply makeup and how to inspire others.
