Sartor Photography was hired to photograph our wedding and a few downtown Belleville locations. They were able to complete a few of the required photos we wanted, but the most important photographs we requested of them, they did not take. Instead most of the photos during the ceremony were taken from a distant balcony of only our backs. The intimate shots we were wanting and had paid for were not taken and we are left with below average shots. When we reviewed the portfolio presented at our initial meeting, the shots he provided were intimate, close captured shots. What we received after our wedding was distant, wide shots. There were only a handful of close shots at the very beginning of our wedding. There was no close shot of our kiss, blessing of the rings, lighting of the candle, or blessing of the couple. The memory of my wedding in photograph is ruined and I can never have those moments back.
To further clarify, we had a modest list of important pictures and as stated in their contract, they attempted to get every shot we requested but they were not able to collect all of our important shots. When I received our photos for preview, most of the photos were either taken at a considerable distance back or only the back of our heads were captured (140/598 photos of the back of our heads). The two most important photos that were requested; the unity candle and a rose dedication to the Virgin Mary, consisted of just our backs and tilted heads. I did not pay for my union to be captured of only our backs from a distant balcony. Now I must explain to my mother that the one photo she dearly wanted is non-existent because they half-heartedly captured it. A simple side shot of our bended heads in respect and prayer to the Virgin Mary for my mother and all we received was our hunched backs. Does this seem fair? In my opinion, if someone states this is an important shot, a photographer should do everything in their power to obtain it! I did not get upset when they were not able to get the other three shots we wanted after the ceremony, but during the time we were capturing the wedding party photos, why was the shot not retaken?

I feel this is an inaccurate review of the wedding photography this couple received from us. When considering this review please take into consideration the other reviews also. We don't use thumbtack very often so there are many more reviews on our facebook page from over the last ten years we have been doing wedding photography.

It is true that we did not get as many close up shots or as many angles as we normally do when capturing a wedding. I always make it a point to speak with the pastor/officiant before the wedding anytime we are doing a wedding at a church. When I met with the pastor he informed me that after everyone had walked down the isle that no photographers were allowed to go past the second pillar from the front of the church on the side. He walked over to the pillar and said you can't go past this point and not a lot of moving around during the ceremony. We discussed where both me and my wife would be once the ceremony got under way. I went to the bride before the ceremony started and told her we wasn't able to go past the second pillar on the side of the church and that we wouldn't be able to get any shots except from those angles the pastor said we could get. It is impossible to get a shot of the front of your faces or a good shot of the virgin mary statue when you are standing right in front of it. The couple had their backs to the crowd and we are unable to move to an angle to capture it better during this part of the ceremony.
It truly bothers me that this couple did not get every single picture they wanted. We do feel that we captured the wedding ceremony to the best of our ability without breaking the rules the pastor had set out before the ceremony started.

Sartor Photography shot my daughter's Wedding in June of 2015. They shot crisp colorful photos and provided black and white high contrast versions of select photos. Sartor Photography (SP) provided over 500 photos and caught those subtle touching moments that are the important moments of a wedding. SP also has a website where participants can view and purchase photos. I was very pleased with their work.

Adam and his wife were very professional. My husband and I felt very comfortable with them. They were easy going and able to adapt to what was going on. The pictures were absolutely beautiful and we got them back very quickly. We could not have asked for anything to be better. I will continue to use them and I will recommend them to others.
