About this pro
I would highly recommend Genesis Construction for all your remodeling needs. Bruce and his team were professional, courteous, respectful and most of all trustworthy. I had a vision and Bruce executed it perfectly. My new bathroom is more than I ever expected. Whenever there were obstacles, Bruce and his team made thoughtful recommendation, which I really appreciated. I had to go out of town and not one time did I feel I could not trust their presence in my home while I was away. Bruce kept me informed at all times. His team, Jamie and Dan were respectful and made sure my home was clean and free from debris. Do not hesitate to call Genesis Construction for all your construction needs.Jun 20, 2018Verified
We absolutely love our new bathroom. Bruce and his team did an awesome job. I appreciated always being able to communicate my ideas and concerns and they were great about working through everything with us. They were always on time and worked hard. This wasn't an easy project, and there were some issues as we live in an older home, but Bruce and his team were great at addressing and dealing with walls and floors that weren't level. I am so happy that we chose Genesis!Oct 18, 2017Verified
From the very beginning, the communication with Bruce was excellent! Any questions that we had, whether it was via e mail, text or by phone, he answered them as fast as he could. The work is OUTSTANDING! He more then exceeded our expectations. Our bathroom remodel was done ahead of schedule and it looks beautiful! A++++ Will definitely hire again for future projects.Jun 14, 2018VerifiedBruce F.'s reply
Thankyou Rob. It was a pleasure to work with you and Lauren on your project. You guys did a great job with your design and color choices. We too are proud of the way it came out. Was a great project!
No call no show ... Bruce said that he would call and make plans to quote my project ... I could tell he wasn’t thrilled about the idea of driving to my job site ... I gave him the out but he assured me that he took jobs in my area. Bruce assured me that he would call me the next day and let me know if he would be available for a quote which he did not ... I needlessly took a day off of work to wait for a guy that couldn’t even bother to call or text that he couldn’t make it to my job site.May 19, 2018VerifiedBruce F.'s reply
Hi Rich.... I am very sorry I missed our appointment. I certainly had no idea that you took the day off. I feel bad for you and can assure you It was an unintended mistake. I got busy with the project I was working on and it slipped my mind. I am sorry. Yes, I was hesitant to drive 45 minutes in the opposite direction of my normal work area. I met with my Thumbtack Rep and we think that system changes inadvertently changed my work areas. We “fixed” the issue and my hope is that this won’t happen again in the future. I value my clients’ time as much as I value my own. When I accept a Project, no matter how big or small, I make it a priority for my crew to arrive on time and that the project stays on track. I take great pride in the fact that my projects are completed on-time and on-budget. Again, I am really sorry.
Bruce was rude when I explained I was using another contractor. He complained that I wasted his money responding to me. Glad I didn’t hire him.. he’s obviously not very professional!May 10, 2018VerifiedBruce F.'s reply
Hi Vicki, I am sorry if I upset you and my reaction was not professional. In my defense I will say that I do my best to control costs. As a contractor I pay a fee of $30+ just to respond to these requests. Thumbtack allows 5 contractors to respond, so they make $150 whether or not anyone gets hired. In the past 30 days at least 10 project requests have been cancelled and I have had to pay the fee anyway. While I understand the cost is part of my overhead, but that overhead expense gets passed along to the customers that actually hire me. Unfortunately, this customer (Vicki) never provided an address or phone number, never scheduled an appointment and never hired me…but marked me as “Hired” only to post this negative review. As a legitimate contractor, I publish ALL of my information, my bank and insurance records have been verified, my back ground has been investigated and many of my customers have left reviews. Unfortunately customers are not screened and we know nothing about the customer. We have to hope and pray we “get along”, the job will go smoothly and we will get paid for the work we do and eventually the customers will take the time to say nice things about us in the end. My reputation is always on the line so I do my best to honor agreements, time lines and provide quality work at a fair price. I am sorry for my reaction. I try to save myself from unnecessary expenses and my reaction was unfortunate.
