Initially I needed Mark to clean up my computer as it was very slow. Although I can use application software I am not technical. Mark very patiently worked through a series of diagnostics, discovered one problem, fixed it and then went on to uncover more issues. Who knew that I had 3 anti-virus programs installed of which they were conflicting and nothing was getting done. That in of itself was worth getting taken care of. My system was so messed up it took several scans with 3 different programs to fix everything. And then there was the overnight updating that took hours and hours. My system was such a mess I avoided using the computer adding to the problems because of inactivity and a greater need for scanning/clean up.
Before Mark and I set up an appointment I told him that I wanted to establish a "relationship" with an individual who would be there to assist me with routine maintenance and whatever issues might arrive.
Not only is Mark very knowledgeable and competent with computer issues he also offers insight into cable/internet. If I wanted someone who just looked up solutions on the internet I would have gone to another retail organization. I get enough misinformation and ongoing problems with my cable provider and I didn't want to take a chance with a computer repair person. The trust factor is important as well and I felt from the moment Mark walked in the door I could trust him. Integrity is as important as ability and when someone is working with your computer involving privacy and confidentiality, you need to be assured of confidentiality and competence.
I appreciated that Mark came out himself and did the assessment and completed the job which is unlike many organizations. I didn't want a "franchise" and as stated not a retailer. It shows "ownership" and "commitment" and someone who stands by their work and not just a corporate person or behind a franchise
Although I felt that he might have come on a little strong, it would appear that if I continued to "research" various options I would end up doing nothing. For that reason I appreciated Mark's "enthusiasm" and wouldn't be completing this review albeit as delayed as it is. Ordinarily I wouldn't just impulsively contract with a service, but after reading reviews from different sources and checking references before the appointment, I felt comfortable with my decision.
