FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No complicated system here, our small projects like installing a door, door knob, other hardware or many other skilled task performed by an experienced professional are charged $35.00 per hour. Our professionals will give you 60 minutes of work each hour. A typical door knob replacement will take 30 minutes, so we hope you have something else for us to do because we do have a one-hour minimum. A door install that needs to be drilled can take from one to 1 1/2 hours on average. Large scopes of work are based on a comprehensive examination and FREE estimate.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely, if you want to be a leader you have to stay aware of the latest products, tools and applications that will give you and your customer the inside lane. Just recently I went on an estimate that the owner of this house built in 1896 was told by another contractor that his options for window replacement would require retrofitting the existing large openings to a smaller size to accommodate the newer windows. A little research led me to a new product that allows the existing openings to remain intact, thus saving the homeowner thousands in potential retrofitting cost and left intact the historical integrity of the home. The cost of not retrofitting the forty-six windows in the home will save enough money in construction to pay for the new windows. It can pay be on top of your game.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
For me at 18 construction seemed too hard, i.e. the heat, the dirt, the itchy insulation I was installing in Florida. Three years later came my first baby and the bills weren't getting any easier to pay, so I chose to leave the automotive repair industry and re-enter the construction industry. It was a choice I have never regretted and I never will. I have been fortunate enough to fall in love with my work and lucky enough to contribute my skills on two of the largest hotel/casino's in the world "The Excalibur Hotel and Casino and The MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have also contributed my skills at Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
