Check to make sure that an acupuncturist is licensed and has taken the proper training to become an L.Ac. Not all acupuncturists are the same, and some professions like chiropractic and medical doctors can claim to do acupuncture with minimal training. Herbal training is very similar to this. Do not trust herbal medicine practitioners that only prescribe patent, pre-made pills. They do not know their craft very well.
