- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For all commission paintings prices are based on mathematical equation based in inches of length times with times “2.5”. Portraits starting at sizes 36“ x 36“ and up can include a second person. Any portrait including additional person(s), half body, full body. we should discuss this in detail prior to the commission. Prices may vary based on the complexity of the portrait. 2021 Portrait Prices. *20“ x 16“: $800 *24“ x 20“: $1200 *24“ x 24“: $1440 *30” x 24”: $1800 *24” x 36”: $2160 *30” x 30”: $2250 30” x 40”: $3000 36” x 36”: $3240 36” x 48”: $4320 48” x 48”: $5760 48” x 60”: $7200 Special Deals: I do have a special for my 2021 single cropped mixed media (Oil pastels) on Mat-Board (paper) portraits. Each single cropped portrait takes approximately 15 to 20 hours to create and they are framed in IKEA frames at no additional cost. Please inquire regarding pricing. For all commission work, I require 50% paid up front which covers the initial cost of purchasing new materials for this commission. When the painting has been completed the balance plus packaging, shipping, handling fees and taxes are due before the painting is delivered in person or via a mail shipping service. Payment Plan: I am flexible, if you would like to have a portrait and can not afford it, a payment plan can set up after the initial 50% depot has been made. Once the painting and additional Taxes, shipping and handling fees has been paid off, only then will it be delivered. Framing: I do work with some wholesale framing services. All artwork is nonrefundable.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 25 years of experience of painting. I have a Masters of Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, which is one of the oldest art academies in the United States. I have a bachelors of fine arts from the Savannah College of Art and design and I recently obtained a Masters in education. The majority of my work over the years has been portraiture but I also paint floral arrangements, landscapes from my studio and on location. From time to time I also have the opportunity to work on murals. During the day I work for a nonprofit and I direct a vocational arts training program where we provide participants with skills infused with the arts and commercial interior-mural painting and ceramic/tile mosaics work.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been painting my whole life ever since my senior year in high school in the Netherlands. I was exposed to some of europe’s best artists. After high school I went straight to art school. From there I vowed to infuse the arts into everything that I do professionally and recreationally.
