Shimmy has been excellent with Brianna for Piano lessons thus far. Thank you
I took bass lessons with Tom that were 70 minutes per session, sometimes more. He will not bore you at all! He gives fun drills that don't feel like exercises because you're too busy enjoying them. He will teach you to develop good guitar playing habits and techniques. He works with your schedule and needs.
My daughter started piano lessons with Stacey just a month ago but she is so excited every week to go. We have been very happy with how Stacey has progressed her - continually adding more difficult pieces to work on to see what she can do. This is our first experience w music lessons of any type and we are really happy with Stacey De & Co! Even my son, who never wants to try anything new, has started asking about taking drum lessons there. We couldn't be happier :)
Guitar Chicago is the best option for music lessons in Chicago! Their instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and supportive. They do a fantastic job of working with you to achieve your individual goals. I started as a beginner with no guitar knowlege, and they helped me achieve my goals of playing multiple open mics and music events. I've also been able to meet and work with other Guitar Chicago students! They are always willing to work with my busy schedule, which is very hard to find with other schools or group lessons.
Very easy to work with, my son loves learning to play the guitar with him
I contacted Jerry, inquiring about in-home guitar lessons for my daughter. He replied immediately with helpful suggestions of an instructor. When I realized my daughter wanted a female instructor Jerry went out of his way to find out more about my daughter and the kind of instructor who would be compatible with her. He then suggested one of two female instructors he felt would meet her needs. I was impressed with the time and effort he put into helping me find an instructor for her. This was extraordinary that he would take the time to help me when it did not directly benefit him and he did not even know me! I had originally contacted Jerry because of his highly regarded reputation for teaching and instruction. But now I also hold him in high regard for his kindness and dedication to helping others find their way into the world of music.
Since it was founded in 2000. Garage Band U has provided its students with a critical learning experience that individual study cannot deliver: hands-on group performance. Garage Band U creates a fun and supportive environment where musicians of all ages develop their skills by performing as members of a functioning rock band. Musical confidence and ability to grow together and thrive at Garage Band U. Semesters last six to 12 weeks with an open enrollment policy. Students are grouped in small classes with musicians of the same age and experience level. Band size is kept small (usually four to six people) to ensure that everyone plays his or her principal instrument at all times. Musical repertoire is determined by the band members; students are encouraged to submit appropriate song suggestions. Groups rehearse for one hour per week, culminating in a live performance at a public venue with a stage and professional sound system. Garage Band U students learn what is expected of professional musicians, and they experience the thrill and pride of performing together as members of a real rock band. The Garage Band U program helps students with the following: * Set and achieve goals * Work effectively as part of a team * Tap their creativity * Network with other musicians * Make new friends Garage Band U students also learn to embrace the following important values: * Discipline * Confidence * Self-esteem * Integrity * Commitment
My experience working with Courtney Harris has been a wonderful one. He is very professional and cares for the children in which he teaches. I have two children who is under his guidance. One is my very anxious 6 year old son. He recieves drum lessons. He is shows patience and kindness in his sessions with him. My second child is 13 and receives voice lessons and acoustic guitar lessons with him. He is doing a great hob in building her confidence. She is learning well under his guidance. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
I got SO much more than I asked for connecting with Altered Stage. Not only does my membership get me access to unlimited guitar lessons with an awesome teacher, it also includes a great space with all the equipment needed, a welcoming community of likeminded and friendly recreational musicians, and the chance to play on-stage with my fellow members once/month. I went from being the guy who could play chords and learn simple songs through tabs to someone who understands music theory and feels comfortable jamming with strangers at the drop of a hat. A huge change from where I started and not at all what I expected. AS gives members the chance to get involved as little or as much as one wants. I could not recommend them more to musicians at any level.
I hired Jeff for adult beginner lessons, and he did a great job of helping me to understand the basics and why they were important. I also really liked the fact that we were able to go at my pace (as opposed to group lessons), and we practiced by learning actual songs that I wanted to play, which makes learning and practicing fun.
