FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Hour Lessons are all I offer, as lesson time is limited. House Calls are typically reserved for Saturdays in Chicago proper, and are more flexible in the nearby suburbs that I service. Lessons are payable for the month up front. There are no registration fees.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'm very interested in understanding the needs of every student. By learning more about what they do outside of music, whether they look to it as a career or hobby, and things of this sort, I can get a sense of who they are. This allows me to relate music to their world. It offers them additional motivators. It shows how music is part of everything. Once I've gotten a sense of this and we've established their goals, we're on the way to developing in them the knowledge and skills required to master their craft.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in Music Composition and Performance from Columbia College Chicago (Summa Cum Laude). Additionally, I've spent countless hours receiving private tutoring for myself, studied method acting at The Chicago Actors Studio, and have been a working musician for thirty years, and recording artist for 25.
