- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $150 / hr for design and creative work, $75 / hr for site supervision and progress checks, if needed, once the job is underway, and $50 / hr for order fulfillment, tracking and oversight, again if needed. For Handyman, Furniture Assembly and Art Installation projects, I charge $35 / hr, with a two hour minimum.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For design projects, I perform an initial in-person consultation, free of charge, to determine the scope of the project and if we are compatible, followed by an estimated fee proposal and general outline of the scope of work. If acceptable, a 50% deposit is required to begin work, with subsequent payments due as invoiced.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the design field for almost 25 years, and have designed and overseen everything from interior furnishings and paint selection to space planning, remodeling, renovation, additions and ground-up new construction. In addition, I was active in the gallery world in Chicago, and have experience hanging just about anything you can imagine. I am very detail oriented, and am efficient without being careless.
