Introduction: I teach what I have learned through many years of performing and traveling. I teach music theory through voice (as a singer) and bass ( bass guitar and upright bass) Each student's skill is different and I organize a set of finger or vocal exercises as well as exercises to develop intonation, mobility on the fingerboard and repertoire. Scales and arpeggios, as well as rhythm and good time are part of making music. I am a blues and jazz bassist and singer but I also played rock and country. These styles are closely related. I hold a Bachelors in Jazz Studies from Roosevelt University in Chicago IL and a Masters Degree in Music Education /vocal music from Vandercook College of Music, Chicago IL. I love teaching what I have learned through the years of meeting great musicians. Listening to great bassists and singers is the way that I really learned to feel the nuances of rendering a song. I am passionate about performing and I am passionate about teaching what has been my life.

Hello other thumbtacks users, if you're looking for the greatest vocal instructor look no further. I recommend Ms Cecile to beginning and advanced musicians. Aside from the friendly home environment the exercises used in training are beneficial forever. When I first saw the prices I was in disbelief how inexpensive the lessons were, but eventually she confirmed they were true which was a plus. I never feel cheated whenever we gather multiple times a weak. I know that I'm getting my money's worth. She's very patient, never rushes into the exercises until you've 100 completed the exercise to her standards. I've received compliments from friends how my vocal range has expanded. All of my friends say I'm in tuned. But mostly importantly I feel comfortable saying I see the results every time we meet up. I highly recommend Ms Cecile to anyone looking for a great coach.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Between $45 and 50 /hour. when I see that it is a young person or a student, i also offer a sliding scale. Do unto others as has been done to me...
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I listen to what he/she desires. I try to make him/her comfortable to do best when playing or singing a song so that I can have an idea of what the need is. Then we discuss what I heard and reach for an agreement on the course to follow.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors in Music Jazz studies, from Roosevelt University, Chicago IL Masters in Music Education Choral and vocal Music from Vandercook College of Music, Chicago IL. I also taught music in Chicago Public Schools for a while.
