FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
• Actor headshots $179 (25% discount for children & seniors) Shoot in studio at 180 N. LaSalle or outside. Two looks, unlimited variations and poses. No rushing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I get the details and needs of the project. Then I ask you if there's a certain look you need to achieve or if you need some help and ideas in determining that look. It's best to make sure we're on the same page before the shoot, so we both have a target goal we're aiming at. Shortly after the shoot, I process the images and post an online proof gallery. Once you make your selection, I provide the custom retouching to make the image look really good. Then I email you a proof. Once you see the proof, you might want changes, more of this and less of that, etc. The process is custom, you'll get what you want. But you should remember that "too much" retouching is frowned upon by most in the industry. The finished photo should look good, but it should look like you. Once you're happy with the final result, I'll format the picture for the printer, typeset your name, and give you the final file for the printer.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've studied extensively for more than 35 years in photography, imaging, graphic design, digital retouching and manipulation of images, including compositing of several images into one new image. I've studied web design, animation, and video production and editing. I've participated in workshops with many of the world's top photographers. Before becoming a photographer, while working as a creative in advertising, I studied print design and branding.
