Piano Lessons

We just decided to start working with Traveling Musicians after the trial session. Kelsey responded promptly, provided clear and forthcoming information about client & provider responsibilities, but above all, it seems that our grandson loved Brian, the piano instructor and asked for him to come back. Teaching piano for very young kids that just start learning everyday concepts like “group of keys”, before/after/middle, etc, requires a little imagination on how to best explain these concepts so the kids grasp the explanations and don’t block out. That’s what we loved about Brian , that during the lesson he was able to adjust his explanations and to find a way to bring them down to the level of a 5 yr old that knows nothing about piano and just starts internalizing a larger array of concepts & notions. Without compromising the content of the lesson he knew how to go about and make it understandable and infused even a little fun. This was our second attempt to find an instructor through Thumbtack; the first one wasn’t successful at all, the teacher did not make any attempt to connect with our grandson and our grandson withdrew visibly during the lesson and felt relieved when the 1/2 h was over.( plus was over 15 min late). By star contrast, Brian was punctual, and after he left our grandson asked when is coming over again.:) So, after just the trial lesson, It is premature to say more at this point other than , we, and equally our grandson, are looking forward to the first month of lessons with Brian and the Traveling music lessons! We’ll be back with more comments as time goes by.

Piano Lessons

I emailed and received a response back within 48 hours. Kelsey asked about the best day and times, what type of music my son was into and what we were looking for. Our teacher Jin was right on time, professional and made the 30 min fly with my son, who has a short attention span. She was so innovative and complimentary that my son said, “It was amazing!” We’re going month to month with payments and I know what to expect. He’s learning while having fun and that’s the best!

Guitar Lessons

It was a smooth experience. I enquired for guitar classes and went with one available teacher recommended by Traveling Music lessons. Worked out for my kid. I just set up continued classes at home. Thank you.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Lessons are $30 for 30 minutes, $45 for 45 minutes and $60 for 60 minutes. Additionally, there is a $5 travel fee used for resources used in getting to your house.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Let us know what day/time is best for the lesson, and when you're hoping to get started, and we will start pairing you with a teacher. Once we find a teacher who can accommodate your scheduling needs, we send you their bio/headshot for review. If you decide you would like to work with them, we send the teacher your way.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our teachers hold music degrees or equivalent work experience. They all pass an audition screen, and we make sure they are not only excellent players, but also educated in music theory and aural skills.
