We had initially hired Salvo to fix a botched plumbing job. He was quick to respond to our Thumbtack request, and was also available to provide service soon. During that visit, he mentioned that he also does partial home remodeling - such as tiling, floors, bathrooms, etc. Salvo was very transparent in explaining that he only does the work he feels comfortable doing and has expertise in. We appreciated his honesty as we had recently been suffering through a string of contractors who promised competence, but instead left us with repeated disastrous outcomes. We invited Salvo back to our home to get estimates on 2 incomplete bathroom remodels, that required a lot of re-work due to how our previous contractor approached the project. Salvo gave us a reasonable quote for our project, and assured us that when he was working on our home, he would only be working on our home, so we wouldn't have to go chasing after him. Cut to the end of the bathroom remodel - everything looks fantastic. The tiles are expertly cut and laid, and fixtures are appropriately installed. Any rework that needed to happen, whether it be plumbing or concrete, was done cleanly and efficiently. Additionally, we asked Salvo to install a back splash, kitchen faucet, garbage disposal, and outdoor spigot for the hose. We would highly recommend Salvo for any job, and look forward to working with him in the future, as well. He was reliable, professional, personable, and punctual! He was cooperative in fixing odds and ends as we pointed them out, and he also took initiative to tell us what needed repair or what could be salvaged. He took occasional help from his wife and another family member, and they were all a pleasure to work with.

I have been dealing with Darrell for over 6 years now and he is the only contractor that I trust with my property. I even once tried a new contractor with a project and it turned out horrible. I called darrell to fix it and now it looks great. If there is something that he is not trained in, he will let you know and sometimes refer you to someone else. The only thing he is only one man and a few guys so sometimes projects are stretched out but when its done, its done right!

Tim & his apprentice came & installed two new faucets for me. They did a great job at a fair price, and he was also a pleasure to talk to.. a real nice guy, recommended for any plumbing job. He also has several other subcontractors that can do any job as well. I will definitely call back for a few other larger jobs.

I live in a 90 year old home that was in need of some major plaster repair work on the ceiling in the garage and the basement. Mike responded almost instantaneously with a message and personally visited that same day. He followed up quickly with a written quote and kept me informed about when he would be on site. He specializes in plaster and concrete work and it shows in his professionalism and the excellent quality of his work. This is my first experience with plaster v drywall and he took the time to explain the approach/process and took care of every little crack (which I didn't even notice) and the obvious issues. The prep work and cleanup was meticulous and that is very important because the demo creates serious dust and debris. For this kind of work, a specialist/pro is highly recommended vs a handyman and of course that should be MIke. I will hire Mike again as the need arises

Roberto was great to deal with, from his first response to my inquiry to coming out for a free estimate in the pouring rain ( on time!! ). Communication was great, the project of staining my deck and fencing, which was maybe 6 or 7 years overdue due to lack TLC!! Roberto's prices were extremely reasonable in comparison to other contractors! I would definitely hire him again and plan to in the future. Highly recommended!! Thanks Roberto

Mike and his team was absolutely fantastic when it came to details. We got entire house done with LVT from Millikan and the install was fast and efficient from Advanced Floors. The underlayment they put down was super smooth and they did all of our trim work at a very good price. I highly recommend them for any floor for residential and commercial. They are very knowledgeable in all areas

I bought a 70 yrs old house recently and right away I started remodeling. One of my projects was having wood floors everywhere instead of carpet. I was happy to find that under the carper in about 60% of the house I already had wood floors installed. So I had to install new floors in the rest of the house and just refinish the existing. All I can say about this guys is that he's really professional, careful with the details and if you take his advice you cant be less than happy with the outcome. Pricewise for the amount of work and details involved I think it was more than fair. One more thing...he's really fast and that really helped since I had so many things happening in the same time.

I am not doing my cement work at this time. But Eliseo will be the first I call to do the work. He is professional, reasonable, courteous and knowledgeable. He explained clearly the project and everything entailed in it. Do not hesitate to call Eliseo at Logan Square Concrete. Wish there were more contractors like him on thumbtack!

Mike Israel was hired to fix our concrete stamped patio. The company who installed it did not do a good job. Mike came out promptly and was able to clean up and seal the concrete. Looks better now and we are happy with the job he did. Pleasure to work with for estimate and job completion. You can tell he takes pride in his work. Would hire him again. Highly recommend doing business with his company.

I would hire Exterior Construction Services again! They did a great job on our chimney and back porch. When Eric came to give us a quote, he knew exactly what we needed to have done and understood that we had a budget. He quoted me an awesome price. He knew we needed to have it done as soon as possible so Eric and his crew came on a holiday weekend since he hadn't made plans yet! We were very appreciative of that. Great Price + Great Quality + Great Service = Exterior Construction Services

I called Quality Way Roofing & Construction to have the flashing on my roof repaired. They came out the next day to give me an estimate and started the work two days later. They were very knowledgeable and detail orient in explaining how the repairs would be completed. All questions and concerns were address. I had my flashing repair and aluminum coating put on my roof. There has been a few storms in this area and I have no more leaks thanks Tommy and Tony at Quality Way Roofing! They did such a great job on my roof I referred them to my parents to have their brick retainer wall repair and tuck pointing on their front porch. They did a fantastic job!

Redefined Coatings transformed my basement! Michael came out and answered all my questions beforehand. I had researched epoxy floors and was worried about failure. He reassured me of the quality of products they use and installation. His team arrived on time and were professional. They finished on time and I couldn’t be happier with the finished product. I never have to worry about my basement flooding again and my floor being ruined. I am in the process of scheduling a concrete overlay on my front steps with Redefined Coatings. Fantastic job and a pleasure to work with. Would highly recommend.

I have had Krozak doing construction projects for my property since 2014. Ever since then, I have not had any need to look for another contractor; Krozak has been consistently delivering high quality work (overall and details), very reasonable prices, professional services and hassle-free experiences. For example, before their first project for me, even during the free quoting stage, they came to my apartment 3 times to measure, plan and communicate with me about what I expected and what they would deliver to make sure there would be no misunderstanding or surprise. They showed up on time for every appointment! During their construction, everything was very nicely done; professionally and thoughtfully, even down to every detail. More over, the crew showed up on time, worked hard, finished on time, kept the site organized and clean on a daily basis, and closed/delivered it very smoothly. As well as all the other projects; the suggestions they made all tried to maximize the cost-efficiency from my perspective, they have consistently provided detailed, precise and thorough proposals, delivered high quality work, kept the site organized and clean on a daily basis, been able to deliver the work on time and very accommodating to my additional requests even if they had to go out of their ways. In one sentence, I'll be glad to refer them to anyone without any reservation!

Vince put in a mail box, a ceiling fan and power washed and sealed our large concrete patio in Hoffman Estates. The job took two days to complete with 3 days of drying time after the power wash. The job was done professionally and everything looks as we hoped it would. We had a small issue after the sealant was applied but Vince came out and fixed it. We will work with him again if the need arises!

To anyone looking for a contractor large or small Joe is the one you are looking for. My name is Debbie, I live in Glenview Illinois. I have been saving for many years to put an addition on our house. I have been very skeptical of contractors in the past, but my friend who used Joe for his driveway was very happy with the work he did. The business is called Junk It Joes (clean outs, demolition, excavation and concrete). I hired him for an addition on our house and demolition of our one car garage to build a two car garage and a full 500sq ft addition with 9 ft basement on back of our garage, which is always scary putting that much faith in someone to put a hole in your house, and I was nothing less than very pleased. The references I checked all came out excellent and his estimates came out in the same ballpark as for our budget. The speed, in which it got done, even though he is not a large company, was fast. The most stressful part he put behind us and our minds at ease. It saved us a lot of time and money to hire one company when we had concrete companies that did not do excavating and demolition which added allot more to the bids. Joe informed us it is the same equipment to do all this and also said it takes alot more time to have 3 different companies lined up and also the amount we saved we were able to get a lot more. We acted as the general contractor to save money and Joe helped us every step of the way with other contractors so we did not get ripped off. He informed us that we could always fire contractors if we were not happy and by making sure we did not pay in advance for work not completed. With this knowledge he gave us the upper hand. He worked side by side with other contractors to make sure everything went smooth as soon as the house was opened up. He put plywood and plastic up so no saw dust or debris came into the house. The site was cleaned up every day. I didn't have to worry about mud, dust or debris getting into my house. After the third day we were very at ease with going to work knowing Joe and his crew was amazing and they all knew exactly what to do without being told. He informed us him and his three main guys been with him since he started. We had kids there and they were nothing less than always professional and on time. My kids and neighbors kids loved watching the project. Because of this Joe stayed late put orange safety fence up every night another thing not in our bid. He went above and beyond; he also made sure other contractors put it back up. He was very concerned about the kids getting in and hurt. He was also big on the contractors we hired conduct themselves professionally and not use four letter words when having a bad day. It was summer and hot it was august and we let other contractors know Joe wanted to call a meeting of everyone we hired to make sure if they could not get there when called to retract there bid and that was kids and winter around corner. It was not his job but he is such nice guy that everyone respected him including us. I believe he was the youngest owner we hired of a company. He never had to yell or act like a jerk and let everyone know this is someone’s home savings and lifelong dream. He made sure everyone knew that it’s not just a job. He explained all costs and step by step of what would be done. He was very forthcoming if something had to be changed. He is very honest and takes pride in his work. He was always at the job every day and treated it like it was his own house; he worked longer and harder than anyone else. He wanted to make sure, due the fact that houses are so close to each other, that no damage was done to our neighbors house or ours with the big machines used he did it himself. He even put up silk fencing before he started at no charge to us. There was a problem with an electrical line missed marked and had to be moved right in the path of the new addition. When digging it shut the job down temporarily, but Joe got Com Ed out right away to move the line. This was not in our budget but we already knew we saved so much when he had to call me at work he was scared. Glad to inform you with him that was our biggest problem and we lost no sleep. By end of the week the job was back on schedule. We never had to worry about materials not being paid, he did this without asking. When it came time for every payout there were only three. He turned something I thought was going to be a long nightmare into something that did not take much of our time. However the job was big enough Joe explained that what he quoted was able to do extras and not work for free. Not because we were homeowners trying get everything for the cheapest or free. He informed us yes there are bad contractors but there are people that rip them off too. So it works both ways. Joe showed proof of all receipts (which I would never have thought to ask). He also informed us to do the same thing with the other subcontractors we hired that were doing work as well. I have heard of horror stories of liens being put on homes, we never had to worry. We didn't even have to put a deposit down until the concrete was ready to be poured. The job came in under budget and was done very professional. He never tried to over sell us anything we did not need. We asked him about heated concrete floors because we heard other people loved them. Most contractors would jump on it and charge a fortune for extras. He told us that it was very efficient but his crew has only done a couple, it is very time consuming and worries about leaks in the line. Instead of trying to sell us on it, he told us get bids. After we told him how much others cost he said he would do it for the cost of labor only if we order it. He spent so much time with the manufacture on the phone and made sure he would not have to rip his new concrete up. He said he has done a couple but has been lucky, not what we do every day. We paid for the system and he only charged us labor but the deal was my husband had to help so they both learned about it. It cost us less than half the bids we got. We love it, the best thing ever got and we were still within our budget. My husband is a union carpenter whom would work with Joe or recommend him any day. He was very impressed with his work; he went above and beyond what was expected and even threw in a few extras to keep us happy. After the second day I was completely confident I hired the right person. He did a follow up call after the first month, three months later and stopped by just to make sure we were still happy and there were no problems. This is our second year and have passed his name along to all my friends and family. We are happy to report that we love our addition and have made it the dream house. It’s done, furnished and we saved so much we could furnish it. I never thought in million years the project would come under budget. For being the biggest project I ever taken on, without him I don’t think it would have went as well. It was well worth the countless hours my husband and I spent with him he acted more like the general contractor. We had enough for a new concrete driveway in the end instead of asphalt. We offered him a bonus since he acted like a general contractor and relied on him so heavily we felt bad but he turned it down. He said his guys deserve it more than him but he could not take it. He said if we wanted to get them any Christmas presents that he usually gets them gift cards for red wing boots. He said he has not been able to do it past few years because of the economy and after the job, they did need them. He still sends us Christmas cards and so do we.
