Oh, Thank You. I really appreciate it Alex -and I'm lovinghaving you as a student. :) Linda
Voice coach Linda Solotaire was very organized and provided practical exercises that help with singing and breath support. She is ready to assist in me in achieving my goals. I am confident that I will achieve my goals and look forward to more lessons with Linda of True Muse Music.Apr 3, 2018Verified
Ms Linda has been teaching both my children for over 2 years. Kaylie is now 6 and Anabelle is 12. I was originally a little worried about how the Zoom lessons would work, especially for the younger child but it has been amazing so far. Ms Linda has been able to give clear instructions as well as keep the kids engaged and passionate about music even virtually! She also make sure the kids work on their theory, scales, techniques and music scores, making sure they understand music thoroughly. I truly love her and so does my kids and she comes highly recommended!Jul 6, 2020
Two of my sons took piano lessons from Miss Linda when they were 5-6 and 7-9 years old. Both boys are very different (personality, work ethic, temperament, talent) from one another, but Linda was able to encourage the push them to achieve a level of musical appreciation and performance that has helped both excel in the orchestra and band instruments they have taken up now they are older. A very talented musician herself, Linda also 'gets' kids and has a gentle way of instruction that encourages children to want to practice and improve each week. Highly recommend Linda!Oct 8, 2018
My children love working with Ms. Linda. She makes learning fun and she individualizes their lessons to meet my children’s needs.Aug 21, 2018
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?•True Muse Music & Performing Arts offers a 10% discount to students who pay for a month in advance. •All fees listed are before the discount and assume the student is enrolled in weekly lessons that meet at the same time each week. •Lessons should be paid on the last lesson of the month for the upcoming month of lessons, unless other arrangements are made in advance. Make-up lessons can be scheduled in advance for lessons occurring on national holidays.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? At our first lesson, we discuss the student's goals, interests, and past experience. We then work on material to assess the student's abilities, technique, and understanding of the overall material. We make recommendations for study materials and talk about practice expectations and process. For piano students, it is imperative that the student has an instrument on which to practice regularly. Voice students (singing, voice over and public speaking) should have some way of recording lessons & rehearsals, and a computer or other device for playback of recordings.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I started in theatre as a child, and did my professional apprenticeship at a LORT theatre when I was 13 years old. I studied violin for 7 years, ballet for 15 years, jazz and modern for 8+ years. I studied acting privately & in class with various teachers, including William Hickey at HB Studios in NYC. I've studied voice in classes, and workshops with notable organizations like the Greg Smith Singers, and privately in NYC and in Chicago with Carol Loverde, Typhanie Monique. I received my BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Columbia College Chicago - where I studied contemporary dance, acting, 20th century music performance and moving image. I received my Actors Equity card in 1985 after touring internationally, and working for the season at a LORT theatre in upstate NY.
