- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Payment for the full month of lessons is due at the first lesson of every month. If I do not receive payment by the second lesson of the month, future lessons will be put on hold until a payment is made. Please keep in mind that if I do not receive payment at the first lesson of the month, it creates a financial hardship for me!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always begin with a sample lesson (usually 30-45 minutes) to determine whether a student and I will be a good fit. After we have discussed whether to move forward, the student and I will establish some short- and long-term goals for our lessons. I feel strongly that parents should be present in lessons for students aged 12 and under, as a supportive home environment has been shown to increase students' personal growth.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from the University of Texas at Austin. During that time, I studied and performed in ensembles and as a soloist. I was also a faculty member of the University of Texas String Project, where I taught private and group violin lessons, as well as early childhood music. I have completed Suzuki Violin Book 1 teacher training.
