Introduction: I provide consulting services to my clients as well as solutions to their technical issues with computer systems. My troubleshooting background is in basic electricity & electronics, includes building desktop computers, servicing laptops, and troubleshooting mobile devices. Mr. Jordan responds quickly to service calls for my family's computer. He is professional, efficient and affordable. I am not great with understanding technology and Mr. Jordan does a wonderful job of answering my questions in a way I can understand and he explains the problems and solution options clearly. I have used Geek Tinker for several issues with my computer and he has also worked on my families computers. He was able to recover pictures from a crashed computer and ridded many of our devices from viruses and then set up protection against reoccurence. Recently he set up Windows 10 update on my laptop. He is not only knowledgeable in many areas of personal PC, phone, and tablet repair and maintenance but he does an excellent job of communicating in a language I can understand and that doesn't make me feel ignorant. It's rare that someone so technologically minded is also so adept at interpersonal skills. I use him often and recommend him to anyone asking for every range of IT support.

Gene did a great job. I'm on the West Coast, and I scheduled Gene to setup my parents' desktop computer in St Louis that they recently purchased. He was extremely knowledgable and patient, getting them all setup. Gene was also an excellent communicator and showed up on time. Definitely recommend.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I can provide a basic free estimate over the phone and through email. My minimum fee is $50 which includes up to two hours of work, travel time, and transportation costs. Discounts are offered for individuals 55 and over, Veterans, college students, and non-profit organizations.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly reading trade magazines and online sources for news about the computing and technology field. I have recently enrolled in an online programming course from Harvard University and moderate a large study group for it two nights a week.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I first discovered the need for local technology support while in college through my classmates and instructors. Even as computers became easier to use, they also became more prevalent and ingrained into our lives. Not every small business can be served well by the big box retail stores.
