For the past 12 years I have known Mary, as I and my 3 children have all taken piano lessons with her. She is very patient, and teaches music theory as well as performance. I highly recommend her.
I hired Ms Speckart to teach piano lessons for my 6 year old; My 6 year old has adapted to her style of teaching right away. n the short period of time that my little girl had been going to her class , my observation of Ms. Speckart is that she is patient, teaches in a fun way for kids to learn , and she is obviously very well educated and experienced in her craft.
I have known Mr. Murphy for a year and a half. He was the children's choir director at my parish. My 8 year old son was a member of the choir. Mr. Murphy got to know him, offered us piano lessons and we agreed. My son enjoys his lessons very much with Mr. Murphy. I like Mr. Murphy because he is an accomplished musician, he is patient and respectful of children and knows how to motivate them to do their best. We are very happy with him teaching our son piano.
I started piano lessons with Melrick around April 2016. He has made the investment very worthwhile. He is knowledgeable in both reading music and learning by ear. I have no regrets and look forward to my continued growth. I would highly suggest him to anyone that is interested in learning to play the piano no matter what age you are.
I worked with A Major for piano lessons for my mom. The lady who I scheduled with, Carol, was really helpful and worked with my slightly strange requests (it was a surprise gift, so we didn't know *when* the lessons were going to be until after we gave her the gift). Working with her was a real pleasure! While our instructor was much more skilled in guitar than piano, he was definitely able to provide the quality instruction to get a beginner going on the right track. He provided us with a beginner booklet and valuable intro level guidance. And this all for a really great price compared to other options I looked at. Even group classes cost more than this weekly in house visit!
A world class Piano instructor and Voice Teacher. Patient but firm my Daughter has learned so much I couldn't ask for a better instructor
Dr. Beth is great! She's been working with my 2.5 year old and somehow has made her able to sit and actually love these lessons! Very knowledgeable and I feel lucky to have found her for my daughter.
My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Ms. Calahan for almost 2 years now and the experience has been wonderful. Ms. Calahan makes it fun for the kids but still also pushes them to advance to the next level. Ms. Calahan also does great with adults. I recently started taking piano lessons as well. Both my daughter and I have enjoyed learning the piano and recently we played christmas music for all our family. It made for a perfect Christmas Eve night with everyone signing along. In addition, the recitals are perfect by being more low key but still giving students an opportunity to gain confidence with their music in front of an audience.
Dr. Burge has instructed my daughter in piano for several years. She is very knowledgeable in piano pedagogy, she challenges her students, and she creatively engages them through a variety of approaches and experiences.
Sue Alexander from the MusIQ club will be giving piano lessons to two grandchildren and me. She responded very quickly and very nicely agreed to come by so we could meet and she could be introduced to the children. My daughter and her children and I were all delighted with Sue and are looking forward to the lessons.
Katie taught my two girls piano during the 2011-2012 (5th & 6th grades) & 2012-2013 (6th & 7th grades) school years, and some during the summers. They each did half an hour lessons with her each week. Katie works very well with children, my girls loved her! She was very encouraging each week to one of my daughters, who is extremely hard on herself. She is also flexible & extremely knowledgeable in the area of music. She was able to see that one of my daughters played better by ear and the other one played better by reading the music & switched one of their piano books accordingly, in the middle of the school year. Katie is a great piano teacher and I highly recommend her.
Our boys (ages 12 and 14) have had Bill as their piano teacher a total of 3 years, two years in the beginning until he relocated out of the area, and now we are back with him since his return. He challenges and encourages them in their piano studies, in both piano performance and theory, and he is a very accomplished musician himself. We couldn't be more pleased to have Bill instruct our boys.
My tutor was very flexible with his schedule. It was very easy for us to set up a time and date for the tutoring sessions. He was prepared for the sections I told him I needed help with and was great at explaining concepts I disn't understand from my own professor!
I instruct piano to all ages and all levels. What makes my business great is that I truly love what I do and it doesnt feel like a "job". I have been teaching private piano for 22 years and I still love it as much as I did when I first started.
What makes my service stand out: I have experience in the vocal field from 7th grade up until this point. I have strengthen my voice in using techniques in grade school both 7th and 8th grade from a music teacher and did very well in this field. I pursued music in high school, but I continued it in college and entered into the Concert Chorale and sang with this years and years and entered from this into the Alumni Choir. I did sing also in the Church, Coffee houses, the Community Choruses from Powell Symphony Hall and with after school programs. I practiced a lot, and while pursuing the voice, I decided to learn the Piano at 11 years old and I pursued the piano with Ludwig, Staufen Piano, Baton and Lacefield Music, I decided to hang out with the musicians and dedicate myself. I decided to use colleges as well as grade school and high school to get all the techniques I need in order to teach music too. I am now teaching it and have taught in the St. Louis Public Schools and I am working with Special Ed. students as well as regular students and I do get the opportunity to teach them music occasionally. I now dedicate myself in a Church and Open devotion and soloist sing every Sunday, also I do have a friend who uses me as a singer also in a sing-A-long for the foreign children as well as others kids. I have some experience in teaching band and orchestration for the high schools and I am looking forward to more experiences in the upcoming future in the music field.
I provide guitar and music lessons. I have 19 years of studying guitar and 10 years of performance experience. I have a major in music.
I'm trained in both classical and musical theater, as well as rock and pop. I teach both piano and voice to kids and adults of all ages. I focus on proper technique while still allowing my students to have input on material they are excited about. Many of my students have gone on to perform with companies like STAGES St. Louis, The MUNY, and in NYC.

We love to pair students together, encourage everyone to try new instruments, and love to encourage everyone to reach his/her maximum potential through self-discovery through music! Inspiring is our duty, and we dedicate ourselves to each individual whom we encounter.
I have been teaching piano and voice for 10 years. I hold MA in music therapy and BA in music performance and music education. I enjoy teaching students from all ages and lead them to accomplish their goals. I often set up students' recitals, and I also qualify in training students to pass exams from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) every year. I combine well-known techniques in teaching, including Orff, Suzuki, Kodaly and Dalcroze to make sure students acquire strong fundamental theories and skills.
I graduated from UMSL with a degree in music education and have taught piano for over 20 years in the area. In my studio, I have a Kawai baby grand and a Kawai electric concert performer, which is why I prefer lessons to be taught at my home. I provide all music and supplies included in an annual registration fee.
I have been teaching piano for over 25 years. My goal is to develop the musical potential of each student by offering a well planned course of instruction that includes a variety of repertoire, technique, and theory. Performance opportunities and adjudicated events are available to all students. I hope to create a love of music in my students that will last a lifetime.
