Chef Mike (and Randy) were phenomenal. We hired Chef Mike for our wedding anniversary. We tailored the menu to our desires, and the quality of the food was outstanding. Amazing experience, will definitely use again! Our menu was Spinach Artichoke Dip on Homemade Sourdough Crostini Tuna Tartare Bite on Fried Wonton Truffle Bombs 14 oz Prime Dry Aged N.y Strip, Sea Bass/Halibut, Mixed Greens, carrot slaw and Pomegranate Extra Bread and Butter Tiramsu

Mike catered a private dinner for our anniversary, it was just my husband and I. Since we can't go anywhere it was great to have the restaurant experience at home. Mike and Randy were super professional and cooked outside with safe social distancing observations, including wearing masks. The menu was discussed before hand and the quality was suberb. The price was fair for a 4 course meal with wine pairings. I would highly recommend Chez Mikey and will consider him for future events.

Mike did an outstanding job catering last weekend’s bridal shower on very short notice! Guests devoured the appetizers with speed and alacrity. Consider this one standout example amongst many. There was no outdoor grill available, so Mike prepared Thai marinated chicken satay on a griddle. The chicken was melt-in-your-mouth tender (so often at restaurants the chicken is dry/chewy from overcooking) and the creamy peanut sauce was a perfect blend of smoky and sweet with a spicy kick. To take care of guests with nut allergies, he also prepared a separate batch of satay chicken using teriyaki. The light, sweet and salty teriyaki glaze on the chicken had a distinctive umami flavor, found only when the chef strikes the delicate balance between key ingredients. Next time I will double the order for both.

We were so pleased with Mike's catering for our recent baby shower! Leading up to the day, Mike was super accommodating of our needs and worked with us to provide what we wanted in terms of food within the budget we had allotted. The menu turned out fantastic thanks to his recommendations, and we had so many compliments on the food! We will definitely be hiring him again for future events and would recommend him to anyone!

When planning a party it's very difficult to find the perfect combination of professionalism and culinary expertise. I found both in hiring Chez Mikey. My guests and I were so impressed with Chef Mike's preparation of our appetizers and main entré. We began our dinner with a one bite amuse bouchée, marinated carrots and cucumber caviar tray. Beautiful and very delicious. For the entré we had the "Hunters' Trophy" (lamb chop on top of polenta and a slowly cooked chicken thigh). This combination was presented artfully; and more importantly this dish was so tasty that even the guests with whom lamb chops are not thier favorite protein, found the lamb chop tender and cooked to perfection and loved it. Chef Mike ended the meal with a special chocolate ganache celebration cake which left all my guests happily ending on a sweet note. When I have another event, I'm speed dialing Chez Mikey because he will soon be booked up. Chef Mike and Sous Chef Diana are top notch in making a party scrumptious and elegant without the worry.

We will use your per person or total budget to build a custom menu.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to discuss the party, times, budget, and expectations of the food. Once initial contact is made we start building menus. We build everything custom for each party and really try to put are egos aside. Once the menu is agreed upon we make an itemized invoice that shows all menu items clearly and quantities of the items. We aim to be transparent and straightforward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
School of Hard knocks for cooking. Bachelor's degree from Ohio University in geological Science.
