FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The quote they first see is for time spent with them by phone and email to gather information and schedule an individual 90 min. face-to-face meeting at their home. At the meeting the quoted fee is due - they come away with my suggestions for immediate ways to work with their dog and a suggested training program. Further lessons are charged on a different scale and scheduled at their need.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to become as familiar as possible with the problem as they perceive it. I ask for descriptions of their actions/reactions, observations and opinions regarding how to handle training of the dog. I need to know what I am working with. MOST OF ALL I need to know the goal - what is the plan the owner has for the dog in the family?
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
When I first became involved with dog training in 1974 it was just to have an "obedient" house dog. Many years of training and titling my own dogs brought me in contact with some exceptional mentors and elevated my expectations of how a dog can be guided to amazing behaviors and outstanding companionship. There are few techniques or methods unfamiliar to me - I have probably tried them and know their best use.
