Introduction: I was the chief facilities officer (a.k.a. OWNER) at two universities; all of my work is intended to provide the highest value to my clients. Value has two factors - quality and cost. Working together we will explore your personal value preferences; a 'house flipper' will have a different value equation than a long-term homeowner.   • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Very simple, actually. Once we have agreed upon a scope and fees we will set milestones for periodic partial payments. My fee will be either hourly (if services are open ended; there may be a cap) or lump sum.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I attend seminars and do online continuing education, usually focusing on changes in building codes, sustainability, new material products/technologies, and current issues in the design/construction industry.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Talk to multiple providers and select the one who you'd want to be working with if everything goes wrong. That's also the one you'll enjoy working with when it all goes right.
