I've been taking lessons with Jon for over a month now, and have seen my skill grow considerably. He is a wildly talented musician, and equally talented teacher. He has a deep passion for music, and seeing his students grow. Jon marries theory with practice - so if you're a nerd (like me) you'll enjoy the depths of his musical knowledge. I treasure my lessons, and look forward to many more.
I have been receiving voice lessons from David Eickstaedt for the past three years and made a lot of progress with my singing voice. At the beginning of a lesson, when he introduces a new idea, it seems as if it will never help me. But thirty minutes later when I'm applying it to a song, I always find that it does work. After all, he is the teacher and he really knows what he's doing.
Señor Rodrigo is an excellent tutor. I learned a lot in just one session. I am looking forward to continuing my Spanish lessons with him. He is very patient and very knowledgeable of the Spanish language. Definitely consider him for your Spanish lesson.
Very welcoming and knowledgable. Already scheduled my next lesson. Looking forward to continuing lessons.
My daughter started piano lessons with Stacey just a month ago but she is so excited every week to go. We have been very happy with how Stacey has progressed her - continually adding more difficult pieces to work on to see what she can do. This is our first experience w music lessons of any type and we are really happy with Stacey De & Co! Even my son, who never wants to try anything new, has started asking about taking drum lessons there. We couldn't be happier :)
Our 11 year old son has been taking lessons with Elif for 5 years. She is excellent with young children and teaches them proper technique from the very beginning. Elif also incorporates her experience as a performer into her teaching. She teaches her students to do more than just play the correct notes. She teaches them to express the music as the composer intended, and pay attention to details that make the difference between a mediocre performance and an outstanding one. Her students also have the opportunity to perform at recitals twice a year. Elif is an outstanding teacher who shares her passion for music with every one of her students.
My 6 yrd son took lessons from David O. last year and it was a really great experience. David is great with kids. He is very patient and attentive to the needs of each student and always makes sure to keep it fun.
Guitar Chicago is the best option for music lessons in Chicago! Their instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and supportive. They do a fantastic job of working with you to achieve your individual goals. I started as a beginner with no guitar knowlege, and they helped me achieve my goals of playing multiple open mics and music events. I've also been able to meet and work with other Guitar Chicago students! They are always willing to work with my busy schedule, which is very hard to find with other schools or group lessons.
Josefien is an amazing instructor. She shows you exactly how to sing and I made more progress in two weeks working with her than I have ever had with any other voice instructor. Truly one of a kind!
My experience with Allegro has been nothing but positive. They have been prompt in all of their responses to my questions, they offer lessons at a great price, and Phil is very patient with his students. Can’t wait to continue my lessons!
Peter is an outstanding instructor. Very personable, knowledgeable, takes his time to instruct, demonstrate and then, while I am peforming the move, if needing correction , does so in a calm and easy way. He fit the bill for everything I am looking for in learning self defense in a non class type setting. You wont be disappointed in giving Peter a try. He has all the equipment, mats, and practice items to use as well..He's also very flexible given my schedule of the times I am in his area on other business, to schedule a lesson around.
Yuen Yee Richardson has been providing weekly piano lessons for my 2 kids since May 2016. Our kids enjoy their lessons with her, have made great progress in their proficiency and are always happy to play a song or two, whether on their own or upon request. Yuen Yee is easy to work with, provides constructive feedback about how our kids are doing, and very communicative. We have recommended her to our friends with no hesitation.
Joanna is teaching my 6 year old to play the Violin, she makes the lessons very fun and my daughter is really enjoying her time with Joanna.
I've been taking lessons with Paul for 2 years now. I started as a beginner and now i feel like an intermediate. I always learn something new every lesson!
I took guitar lessons with Shane for about 3 or so years and it was such a great experience. After trying many other places that gave lessons, the experience that I had with Shane really made it easy, fun, and enjoyable. I learned A TON while still getting to pick the style of music I like. I was able to explore different types of music and different artists that Shane introduced to me, some of which are among my favorites today. Choosing Shane at TriTone music was a great decision that made for a fantastic learning experience for me.
Elaine has been giving my 13 year old son voice lessons and she is wonderful. She is helping him with sight reading and is helping him understand his range capacity. Elaine knows classic technique and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to be a polished singer. Elaine helped my son feel very comfortable performing in front of her and was able to make him see the potential he has. Elaine has a sweet nature and a good sense of humor which helped put my son at ease. Thank you so much Elaine! You have been a great help! LL
Elizabeth Knox is very dedicated to her students, instructing with a level of detail and determination that inspires those she teaches to practice with the same intensity that she offers to them. Her holistic approach to vocal training can benefit voices of all ranges and skill levels, and I have made definite improvement in problem areas I had been unable to make a breakthrough with before. Lessons are never cut-and-dry-- each visit something new is addressed and worked on, from learning repertoire and refining technique, to stage presence and lessons on how our bodies produce sounds. I'm very thankful to have found her.
Altered Stage is a great concept. I was looking for a place to learn guitar and did some research. After I saw the Yelp reviews, I gave them a call. I am so glad I did! Jeff Bergau and I spoke for an hour, just getting to know one another. He was very reassuring and encouraging. I have been taking lessons from Jason Steele. He is great - enthusiastic, helpful, positive, and motivational. I highly recommend becoming a member and taking lessons from Jason. For the drummers out there, Dave Agee is incredible! In the time that I've been a member, I've learn so much and have become a member of this community of kindred spirits and fellow music lovers. The new space at 657 W Lake Street is incredible: the overall vibe is great - a testament to Jeff Bergau's spirit and commitment. There are private and group jam rooms as well as a relaxed atmosphere to encourage members to chill and spend time with one another. The people and place are truly unique.
I’ve been singing forever, and Elisabeth is hands down the best teacher of vocal technique I’ve ever worked with. She can teach any style and really understands how the voice works. She doesn’t settle for just good enough, always pushing you to be excellent. I’ve had a lot of success in the musical theater world and I owe so much of that success to Elisabeth.
My kids are taking her lessons. She is patient and thoughtful. After all, she is a gifted pianist. We are very happy to work with her.
I really enjoyed taking guitar lessons with Ryan! He took time to really listen to and understand what my goals were and helped me work towards them, which is no small feat for a complete beginner. He explained new concepts in ways I could understand and I felt comfortable asking for clarification. He also gave me a variety of different exercises (chords, scales, picking, strumming, full songs) to keep things interesting and to keep me engaged. I also liked that he added in a little music theory (at my request) so that I knew why I was doing what I was doing. In all Ryan is kind, chill, accommodating, talented, and thoughtful, so I would definitely recommend him as a teacher.
