Britt taught violin to our 4 year old for 2 months until we moved out of state. She was patient and caring and I could see my daughter's progress from week to week. Also, she did lessons in our home which was extremely convenient and she had some flexibility with her schedule. Easy to work with.
Rachel has taught both my son and daughter piano lessons. My son also took some voice lessons from her. Her enthusiasm and professionalism are second to none. my kids look forward to lessons now and have improved immensely. I would recommend her without hesitation.
I started violin lessons with Patrycja close to four years ago when I was almost 70 years old. She is an amazing teacher. Always patient with me even when my fingers don't work as well as a younger person's. She explains clearly and makes the lessons enjoyable even if the music is just exercises.. She does expect the music assignments to be up to her satisfaction before going on to a new one. I enjoy it very much when she accompanies me with her violin and or the piano. I feel fortunate to have found such a truly professional violin teacher and would highly recommend her to anyone willing to learn the violin whether young or old.
I really enjoy learning from Tracy! She is a very warm and approachable person. From my lesson, I could tell that she really knew what she what teaching me! That made me feel comfortable about learning more from her. She has so much knowledge to bestow on everyone about Music Theory, songs, etc. I believe that learning the piano or any instrument could pose as a job opportunity. I feel that Tracy prepares me to play locally and/or professionally!
I contacted Jerry, inquiring about in-home guitar lessons for my daughter. He replied immediately with helpful suggestions of an instructor. When I realized my daughter wanted a female instructor Jerry went out of his way to find out more about my daughter and the kind of instructor who would be compatible with her. He then suggested one of two female instructors he felt would meet her needs. I was impressed with the time and effort he put into helping me find an instructor for her. This was extraordinary that he would take the time to help me when it did not directly benefit him and he did not even know me! I had originally contacted Jerry because of his highly regarded reputation for teaching and instruction. But now I also hold him in high regard for his kindness and dedication to helping others find their way into the world of music.
Tristan can be a very good teacher, and very helpful to beginner students. He is a very experienced musician, and while he gets frustrated at lack of effort, if you are willing to put in the effort, so is he.
Corie was my daughter’s first private violin teacher, and she was the perfect foundation for not just the love of the instrument but also the precise technique and skills needed to develop a true musician. Even years later, my daughter’s current teachers are impressed with the solid foundation she received under Corie’s tutelage. Corie made learning a challenging instrument fun at an age-appropriate level without giving up on any high standards. Whether it was learning to read music, developing ear and intonation, or perfecting a bow hold, Corie had multiple ways to teach, to address habits and difficulties, and to share experiences with the larger studio in group lessons. We still use her teaching reminders and phrases during practices sessions. With Corie’s violin lessons, you get more than just basic instruction; you get a surprisingly well-rounded introduction to true musicianship.
Ada is very patient and works very well with children. My son enjoys her as a teacher and has done well learning the violin under her instruction. I look forward to the day when my son will be able to play as beautiful as her older students.
I took violin lessons and my sister took piano lessons from Carol for two years. She was always very patient, explained things in a very clear way, and was very encouraging. We were very sorry when we no longer had time to continue our lessons. Anybody who gets to take lessons from Carol should consider them self lucky.
My daughter has been taking violin lessons from Mrs. Jones for the last 3 years, she just started piano a few months ago. We love Mrs. Jones. She makes her lessons interesting, helps my daughter understand and perform well. Mrs. Jones has taught my daughter her music as well as self confidence. Mrs. Jones has her student perform at her church every year and you can tell right away how her students grow to become really accomplished musicians.
Bellas Artes has almost become our home away from home. All three of our children take lessons there (violin, guitar, voice and musicgarten) and we truly could not be more pleased in the quality of instruction their receive every week! When our oldest daughter came to us and asked if she could please take violin lessons four years ago, we were not only surprised but also delighted but then the search began for a music studio. Where should we go? We were clueless but instantly felt like Bellas Artes was the place for us, after talking to Justin. Miss Constance, Mr. Brown, Miss Suzanna and Miss Destiney have been wonderful instructors for our children and we have so enjoyed watching them learn and grow and become excited about music and performing. We couldn't be happier!
I’ve always been fascinated by the violin. The moment I could muster up enough courage to take classes, I was extremely dedicated, however, not knowing anything about instruments and being an absolute beginner in playing one, it was always a challenge to find a teacher who could match my excitement and interest. When I met Kal, I felt that he had a genuine desire, not just to teach me how to play the violin, but to help me understand music as a whole; to incorporate all musical notes into my life through our lessons. Taking up an instrument can be such an intimidating task, but it is not at all impossible! With Kal as my teacher, in just a few months, I found myself reading music, playing to rhythms, listening to notes and recognizing them (and playing solely by listening to notes!) - basically, I found myself learning music, wholly, something that no other teacher had ever managed to take me through. Thanks to Kal, I can pick up my violin, tune myself, and just…play. His love for music is palpable and quite easily transferable; his dedication is outstanding, and his help has been truly invaluable.
Each lesson I have with Anne Marie is worthwhile. She makes good use of the time, which includes a workable mix of review and new skills, and her expectations for lessons and practice time are realistic. She clearly explains, patiently corrects, and encourages often. Not only is she knowledgeable about music, she is a highly skilled violinist. Because I look forward to my weekly lessons with Anne Marie, I am motivated to practice at home, which is a credit to her. Andviolin lessons are fun!
Ms. Nissa is a wonderful teacher. Our daughter, Madelyn, has been taking lessons from Ms. Nissa for the past 4 months. Ms. Nissa is always professional, arrives on time, responds promptly to texts, and has been very flexible scheduling around our busy summer schedule. Ms. Nissa communicates with Madelyn with clarity and makes learning the violin fun! In fact, Madelyn was always sad when her 30 minute lesson was over, so we increased the lesson time to 45 minutes. I highly recommend Ms. Nissa!
Anne has a passion for music and is a talented teacher and player. Working, learning, and playing with her has been awesome!

Thinking about picking up a violin as a hobby? Or have you been playing for a while and would like to be more challenged? I was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicagos violin section. I received a Bachelor of Music from Korea National University of Arts and a Artist Diploma from University of Cincinnati. I have been part of a variety of music performances, including piano trios, string quartets, and professional chamber orchestras. With my education and experience, I am able to provide violin lessons to all ages and all levels.
I have been teaching violin since 1997 with park districts and cultural centers and privately. I also like to give performance opportunities so you can show off what you've learned. A lot of my students progress fast because I teach the way I was taught - by orchestra conductors.
I am a Chicago based violin instructor and performer. Playing the violin has had an incredible impact on my life, and I'm dedicated to sharing my love for music with my students. I have seen firsthand the social and academic growth of my young students as a result of playing the violin, and I am a firm believer that access to music can benefit a person's life in a way that nothing else can.
I am a current member of the DuPage Symphony and have 20 years of playing experience. I was initially educated in the Suzuki method at both Western Springs School of Talent and Community School of the Arts in Wheaton, followed by pre-conservatory study with Drew Lecher and Nan Zhou. I use a combo of Suzuki and traditional methods, customizing to the student's individual needs and heeding Dr. Suzuki's philosophy at all times. I am also a trained baroque recorder player who has studied privately and taken guest lessons and clinics with nationally-known recorder experts as Vicki Boeckman, Lisette Kielson, Rotem Gilbert and Leighann Daihl. I take violin students ages four and up and recorder students ages eight and up, either through Alleluia Lutheran Church in Naperville or privately within the student's home depending on distance. Please feel free to contact me via Thumbtack for more details, and thank you for considering me to be your violin teacher!
