What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently taking lessons with one of the Chicago area's finest Jazz players, Frank Caruso. I take what I learn and apply it directly to my jazz students. I also work closely with an incredible classical pianist who constantly challenges me to reach beyond my current ability. You never stop learning!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I taught classes with a professor at Northern Illinois University years ago. He taught me how to teach, and from there, I opened my own studio.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Piano instruction. I guess that explains it! I'm also available for events such as weddings, corporate and private parties.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Every day I try to be the best teacher I can. Anytime a student plays well and understands what he/she is doing, that makes me proud.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Hire someone who does this for a living. Stay away from people who do it as a side project for extra money. Most likely, they are not qualified, nor is their heart really into it.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I' ve been doing this for nearly twenty-five years, and I'm really good at what I do!
