FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I think it is absolutely critical, especially for dog trainers, to stay on top of the science of dog training and dog psychology as it is rapidly evolving. I am an active member of APDT, read lots of literature, and am constantly learning from other trainers while training my own dogs in various dog sports.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
When owners go on vacation, they call us to take care of their pets. We can take care of all your pets together in their own home, and help make your house looked lived-in while you are gone. We provide service for dogs, cats, small animals, reptiles, birds, and even farm animals. For owners who work long hours, we provide dog-walking and puppy-walking services. Sometimes the owner has a single important event like a wedding, and we can make sure your dog(s) are exercised and have fresh water while you are away. Finally, if you are having behavioral issues with your dog, the smartest investment you can make is an hour or two of private dog training. We work with you in your home to help teach Fido what you expect, and how to get the results you want!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When hiring a pet sitter or dog walker, make sure your sitter has experience, first aid certification, and is insured! The most important reason to hire a professional pet sitter or dog walker is for your own peace of mind. Anyone can walk a dog, but professionals are insured, and know how to handle situations that frequently come up -- such as being charged by a loose dog. Professionals can also handle true emergencies such as a dog choking on a toy or a dog bleeding. If your dog has behavioral problems you want to fix, an in-home trainer is the best way to go. A private training session allows you to address the exact issues that occur in your home, and come up with the best solutions for your specific situation. Summertime and holidays are busy times, so try to plan ahead. You want the best care for your pets, and we will work hard to ensure that you can relax on your vacation while your pet(s) are smiling at home!
