Update: Unfortunately, our floor did not work out and we had to have it redone entirely. The materials underneath the tile as well as the grout did not hold. Tom is a very nice person, yet feel it is important to update this review. He reimbursed us for the labor cost.
Highly recommend! FIVE STARS!!!!! Tom took out our old kitchen floor and put in beautiful porcelain tile. He is meticulous, yet efficient. He was so helpful with my indecisiveness and put in three small samples of grout I picked up because I couldn't make up my mind! His work is high quality-he knows what he's doing. We also had him install white trim as well as new doors throughout our whole house-14 doors and every room of trim and door casings. It looks fantastic and we have had many compliments already! Always punctual! Don't hesitate to call him! Really happy we found him.

Great tile work and would definitely recommend.
Tom came in slightly higher than other quotes but after seeing him work, I can see why. Not only was the tile work great, he went above and beyond to make it easy. He moved appliances, trimmed down the bottom of 3 doors and the folding pantry doors (so that they don’t rub the floor when opening and closing), and even went out of his way to apply silicon to the mid room sink pipe because he noticed a small leak when things were moved around!
He was also punctual and didn’t charge me extra for the materials he had to purchase at Home Depot (he gave me receipt).
Hire Tom, you won’t be disappointed.

Original:
I selected Tom to work on my project. He showed up on time to scope and quote. We agreed on a start date. Unfortunately, the day before he was supposed to start he reached out and said that he won't be able to, as his wife got a cold. No problem at all. I pushed the start date for almost a week out. The day before the new date he reached out again saying that he got cold now too and won't be able to start. He did not offer to reschedule or make up somehow, even though I offered to push for another 5 days out.
My guess is he has another job lined up and the time that was allocated to mine is gone. Here is the deal. If you made a commitment to a client, honor it. I understand that life happens. Get better. Then, maybe work a couple of weekends to make up for it? Tile is not loud. Maybe start early and finish late for a few days? Or push that other job couple of days back to honor your promise? This is something you do if you want to maintain your reputation of a 5-star professional. Unless you don't.

I really enjoyed working with Tom. He was very punctual and respectful. He helped me design my bathroom because I was torn in what to do with it. He was very quick in the project from start to finish. He made sure I was happy and satisifed before finalizing our deal. I would highly recommend Tom to anyone wanting to work with someone that "gets it" and is helpful.
