Working with with Pawfect Dog Training was an amazing experience. We adopted a new puppy from the shelter and wanted to crate train her, so she would be comfortable in her crate when we were not home. Matthew did a great job training our dog to go into the crate on her own and feel comfortable in there. More importantly he helped teach us the right way to train her and taught us how to keep up with that training to get positive results. After only a few weeks of working with Pawfect and keeping up with our training at home, our puppy had no problem going in her crate on her own. Now she is so comfortable with her crate that she will go relax in there even when we are home! I definitely recommend anybody to work with Pawfect Dog Training to help train their dogs!

I use Mobile Paws grooming regularly for my 2 cats. One of them is so sweet when she's not being groomed ☺️ However, she was tagged by other groomers as having aggression issues. I do not allow sedation for grooming so I couldn't find a groomer that would service her. Finally I found Michelle and Mobile Paws!! She does an amazing job grooming both of my cats and the convenience of not having to travel to have them groomed works perfect for my schedule and makes the cats less anxious. Her lion cuts are perfect!!! She also gives eat kitty a "report card" (so you're aware of their behavior during grooming) and a goody bag!! Michelle has also groomed my mother's dog and she enjoyed her services as well. I've been using this service since I moved to Crete 2 years ago and will continue to.

Erica did a great job grooming our dog Charlie. We were especially pleased with the good job she did on his nails, which were our primary concern. Charlie enjoyed his "spa day" and we will be back with both of our dogs soon! Thanks Erica for all your hard work!

Wild Paws is a wonderful service, providing training, boarding, and daycare and Joanne (Jo) is clearly a special trainer. Jo has been our sheltie-cockapoo-pumi mix trainer for several months and the two of them hit it off from the very beginning. Indeed, I have witnessed this for every dog I have seen interact with her. The emphasis of the training program is always on the well-being of the dog: protecting the dog from running away or eating something dangerous; keeping the dog mentally stimulated, and fostering a healthy relationship between the owners and the dog, especially for families with young children. The daycare is heavily supervised and highly secured. If you are not known, you are not getting in, and you are definitely not removing a dog. However, if you are known, you are welcomed with open arms. The facility is always clean and new dogs are added carefully to the existing mix to ensure that play is always satisfying (and exhausting!) for the dogs. Pictures of the dogs are shared every day. Dietary restrictions are enforced strictly. Treats are plentiful and varied. Puppies tend to leave learning new tricks. I have also used the boarding service. Pictures of the dogs playing are also shared every day. Boarded dogs spend significant portions of the day outside of their cage, unless they are stressed. The service emphasizes the well-being and happiness of the dog as well. There is a human being with the dogs 24/7. If you have a sensitivity to smoke scent, you will want to wash your dog afterward, but this is at most a minor inconvenience. Knowing that the dogs are safe, stimulated, and learning is what matters.

Denise and crew have been walking my dogs for over fifteen years now. I would never want to have anyone else. Whenever I have had something unforeseen come up, Four Paws has ALWAYS stepped up and helped me. They care about my dogs as if they were their own. Years ago when I first realized I needed dog walking services, I had an unfortunate experience with another company (they simply 'forgot to come'!) so it took some time for me to trust that Four Paws would not 'forget' us. I feel fortunate to have found them, and I am not kidding when I say I don't know what I would do without them.

Rick's professionalism is unparalleled. His gentle, quiet, calming approach to dogs is what brought our stubborn Labrador Retriever and our very scarred rescue mutt to be so much better than we ever thought they could be. His capabilities exceeded our expectations and he is always available to ask questions and guide us as we learn more about how to be with our dogs. So happy we found him.

Entrusting Mr. Barkypants, my first-born son, to a dog walker is akin to how I imagine it might feel to someday entrust a less furry child of mine to a nanny: He/She sure as hell better be committed, conscientious, able to survive blizzards*, and love Mr. Barkypants as his/her own. Using this (perhaps slightly unreasonable) standard, I interviewed many, many dog walkers before I found Walks With Zara Chicago Dog Wlalkers, a dog walking company that Russell and his business partner own and operate. Though I haven't yet had to put them to the blizzard test*, it is clear that Russell is an excellent dog walker and human being. I feel strongly about not having just any random person walk Mr. Barkypants: I've witnessed how some walkers who work at larger operations treat (or rather mistreat) the 5-10 dogs they walk at once. Sadly, it doesn't seem uncommon for some dog walkers, on the north-side at least, to roughly yank leashes or yell and scream at dogs, or to refuse to stop walking to allow one of their charges to use the little dog's room, or to tie dogs up to a post in the park while the walker enjoys a cigarette and long chat with his friends. I am confident that Russell does NOT do this; Mr. Barkypants would probably behave very differently with him than he does. Interestingly, though Mr. Barkypants isn't terribly fond of strangers and he is particularly non-fond of strangers who are male and who wear hats, he took to the hat-wearing Russell like he took to liver treats from the first or second walk on. Russell has a gentle, quiet, calm, non-domineering manner with dogs (and humans, really). He isn't embarrassed about speaking to dogs in goofy voices -- a talent I quite appreciate. Moreover, wrt his human dealings, too, Russell is prompt and as honest as Abe: He lets us know when he isn't able to walk a full hour (because of severe weather or sickness) and deducts from his pay despite our asking him to take the full amount. Rates, by the way, are extremely reasonable for Chicago dog walking, especially since Mr. Barkypants gets Russell all to himself on walks. According to their website, Russell is bonded and insured as a dog walker and is a member of the Association of pet sitters. I can speak with knowledge about Russell's excellent credentials as a dog walker. He *will* treat your dogs with respect and patience -- or at least I'm pretty sure they will based on how they've treated my first born son. I can't recommend him enough.

About

Dog boarding school can be an effective way to train certain dogs, especially when there are extenuating circumstances, such as an owner who will be traveling when there is some sort of disruption going on at home. I offer intensive, loving, one-on-one training in my home, where your dog's educational experiences correlate with the life he or she will be returning to. Staying in my home with our loving, training-experienced family reduces your dog's anxiety and loneliness, while improving dog obedience, behavior, and manners. Your dog will learn self-control in behavior areas, such as jumping, chewing, digging, play-biting, barking, destructiveness, anti-social behavior, fearfulness, phobias, aggression, inappropriate elimination, and more. Your dog will also learn some new tricks in the form of willing responses to your cues! Asking your dog to sit, down, come, wait, stay, follow, go to a bed, and more when prompted -- and getting consistent results without bribes, punishment, or repetition -- will show you the joy and "new leash on life" my unique kind of positive reinforcement-based training can provide!
