Introduction: We are a husband and wife company that offers special event music and private music lessons, as well as composition and recording services. Stephanie Young performs, records, and teaches violin while Thor Bremer composes, teaches game audio at Columbia College, and performs on drums and percussion. Music adds another dimension to life - whether that be private lessons, background music, or recordings. It's so rewarding to see the many ways music lessons, performances, and recordings positively influence and shape us!

I have had many sessions with Stephanie, who is an absolute professional and outstanding musician and violin instructor. To put things in perspective, I am a 26 year old male with no prior experience in music theory or violin practice. After the first two sessions, I was able to play several notes and simple tunes on my own. I have since had several more sessions, and am very excited to continue with lessons. I find myself feeling excited to practice at home on my own, and making time to try Stephanie's techniques; It's just that fun. Stephanie is receptive, patient and incredibly skilled at finding ways to teach violin from an integrative, individual approach. She is worth every penny and I am incredibly lucky to have found her as my instructor.

Stephanie is an outstanding violin teacher. Everything she does is imbued with professionalism and skill, yet she is friendly and approachable. She plays violin with a very high degree of technical and artistic skill, which I believe is important. Stephanie teaches methodically and thoroughly. She prepares you well in advance for skills that she plans to develop weeks later, so when the new technique is introduced, your mind, ears, and hands are ready. She is very positive and encouraging, yet firm in insisting on proper technique. She is flexible in her approach and personalizes instruction. She can teach according to the actual authentic Suzuki method, and knows the curriculum and method backwards and forwards, inside and out-- but is willing to take an eclectic approach as well and incorporate supplemental pieces if desired. I highly recommend her for adult beginners and re-starters as well as children. I am really enjoying my lessons with Stephanie and am making steady progress. Update 11/5/17: After watching me practice my violin my adult (step)daughter who has Down Syndrome asked for violin lessons. Stephanie started working with her in the summer of 2017. It has been a wonderful experience! Stephanie very quickly intuited where my stepdaughter is functioning and what kinds of accommodations she needs. She keeps the lessons fun and knows when to give my stepdaughter breaks. She is very flexible in her approach and reads my stepdaughter’s cues and changes her lesson plan to adapt to any situation that arises in the lesson. Stephanie is very encouraging and has appropriateñy high expectations for my stepdaughter. Stephanie gives my stepdaughter an occasion to rise to, and sets her up for success. She breaks down each step into enough small steps that each week my stepdaughter has accomplished something new. My stepdaughter loves, loves, loves her lessons with Stephanie and looks forward to them each week. Stephanie is a wonderful teacher for all types of students, and students with disabilities are no exception. I highly recommend Stephanie for any student with special needs, as well as typical students.

Stephanie is a wonderful violin instructor! She is also the nicest, most patient person you'll ever meet! I know...because I'm just a beginner and I really appreciate her helping me.
