FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each customer and home/job is unique. After assessing what needs to be done there are a few ways to proceed. This is determined by many things such as travel requirements, specification needs, and what has been done already such as quality products used or just facade... there is no cookie cutter system but, if you want something clear cut, hourly can easily be directed with a 3 hour minimum up front payment. Some jobs can require an upfront retainer if there is a larger portion of the home that needs to be done.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a Designer On Call at the Merchandise Mart Chicago for about 2 years and being always interested in new and better products, I attended many classes and informative sessions to upgrade my knowledge and work quality.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It is something I have always done. My father was a decorator and I helped him as a child and was also privileged to pick out my own designs for my room all of the time!
