My experience in Samanthia’s classes was one of peaceful contentment. Samanthia allows her students to leave their stresses at the door through her calm and comforting words and affirmations. Her knowledge of yoga movements and poses was evident as she guided the class through each pose with different levels of difficulty thereby addressing every skill and ability level in the room. I am in my late 60’s and after attending Samanthia’s classes, my flexibility and overall well being was greatly improved. Samanthia has been nothing but Excellent! She shows up early, never "on time" and never late. She's been an amazing instructor and is very attentive in both group settings and private lessons. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?The first step is always understanding what a client's needs are and if I am the right fit. With great communication upfront we can discuss what kind of session they are looking for and I will explain the details of what I have to offer. I will send over any forms that need filled out and we will discuss music options and schedule our first session. I am always available in between the time of our first communication to the scheduled session date for any questions or concerns.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I completed my 200 hour YTT with Buffy Barfoot’s Clear Compass teacher training. Her training was rooted in anusara and therefore i have a heavy alignment base to my practice. I have been practicing yoga asana for over 4 years and meditation/breath-work since I was a kid. Additionally, I have continued my teaching education by attending workshops taught by Eoin Finn, Darren Rhodes and Christina Sell. Additionally, I completed my 600 hour training program with the New School for Massage and have completed all screening and background checks with the state to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. The New School for Massage is a phenomenal training program that provided me with 100 hours of hands-on student clinic
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I love movement and have a deep curiosity for human anatomy and physiology. As an athlete and a lover of the fitness lifestyle, I wanted to be of service to other's by helping them live a healthy lifestyle in body and mind. Both massage therapy and yoga have been my personal saving grace. I have received immense physical, mental and emotional pain relief from the health benefits they offer and love seeing others experience the same.
