Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have over 30 years of experience and have worked with people in a variety of settings. I was trained in marriage and family therapy and well as individual psychotherapy. I use a range of techniques that include problem solving, builiding communication and negotiation skills, guided imagery and others. I seek to understand each person and do not believe in judging anyone. My goal is for each person to feel safe, satisfied and respected. I am able to help with intense emotional expressions and I always listen carefully to what you have to say, offer guidance and support and value the relationship we build. I have high ethical standards and feel honored to participate in the healing process of every client I see. I feel privileged to hear so many personal stories and to work until the client feels he or she has achieved their goal. I am fascinated by the mind/body achievements and how we often bring people into our lives who offer opportunities for growth.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Although a masters degree is considered sufficient for licensure, I continued my education to complete my PhD in 1997. I love to learn, both from books as well as from the experiences myself and others. Continuing education is a requirement in my field. In addition to formal coursework, I also participate in consultation with my peers.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have always been drawn to the field of psychology, entering my own personal therapy encouraged my decision to become a therapist. I chose clinical social work because I thought it was the most compassionate of the mental health professions and offered the educational courses that focused entirely on the therapeutic process rather than other modalities.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
