My experience with Lymphatic Drainage and Healing Touch performed by Dr. Sylvia Hood Washington I believe had a positive effect on reducing inflammation in my body. The few days after therapy I noticed less aches and pain in my muscles & joints. I hold a lot of stress related tension in my muscles, so it was great to have some relief. During the therapy Dr. Sylvia kept me informed with what she was doing and why she was doing it. I liked how she integrated different modalities along with the lymphatic draining. She incorporated some yoga stretching and breathing as well as healing touch techniques. On top of relieving some of my inflammatory muscle and joint pain, Dr.Sylvia found an inflamed lymph node under my arm. It was likely inflamed because I was feeling on the verge of a virus. She was able to drain the lymph node and we could no longer feel an inflamed lump under my arm. I believe this procedure helped me to beat the virus that never transpired. In addition to being a Certified Lymphatic Therapist, Dr. Sylvia has vast knowledge and expertise in the medical field as an Environmental Epidemiologist and Public Health Professional. She has the ability to treat a person holistically while helping them discover how their environment may be affecting their health issues. Aarti has been the best yoga instructor I have ever had.The variety,energy,knowledge and versatality she brought to the class every day is beyond words.As a teacher she is hands on and even in a class of 20,she will remember and guide each individual within their physical capacity. As a mentor she pushes you higher in your practise and I have been able to accomplish asanas I could only dream of.Any student will be lucky to be mentored by her..shes a keeper!
I started practicing Yoga at the Himalayan Meditation Center about four years ago and loved Elizabeth's enthusiasm, knowledge, and love of yoga. Her accessible style suits beginners and advanced practitioners alike. She takes her time to ensure students are doing the poses properly, and encourages them to challenge themselves in each class. Elizabeth's positive and calming energy makes me feel invigorated and relaxed after leaving class. Under her attentive guidance, I greatly improved my balance, flexibility, breathing and health.

I attended a Chakra Balancing Workshop last week. The workshop was very well planned out and ran smoothly. Valerie is very knowledgeable and answered all questions quickly and without hesitation. There were handouts and we were able to follow along and take notes. We analyzed Chakras, which was quite interesting, and made a note of each Chakra's activity. We then did a yoga practice for balancing Chakras. Valerie has a very calming way while leading the practice. The practice flowed smoothly. When the practice was over, we had a short meditation. Then we analyzed Chakra's again to see how they differed from the first time. I really enjoyed this workshop and plan on attending future workshops. I highly recommend Valerie for her workshops and yoga classes.
Over the years I’ve taken many yoga classes and have known many teachers, but it was not until I discovered a certified teacher of Iyengar yoga, the type Amy teaches, that I finally realized how beneficial yoga could be. Iyengar yoga is designed to help people with a wide range of abilities acquire the correct balance and positioning that enable the body to function at its best. For this reason, Iyengar yoga can be undertaken by women or men, children or older adults, and even people with disabilities, because an experienced teacher can tailor the person’s practice for any special needs or level of ability. My first Iyengar teacher moved away, and for a long time I feared I would never find anyone that good again. Then one day I read an article about Amy in the paper, and the long search was over. Like my first teacher, Amy has the ability to instantly spot whatever adjustment a student might need and can supply a wide range of aids to make a pose work for that person. She has a warm, welcoming personality, endless patience, and a good sense of humor. Our class can be challenging, but it’s always rewarding.
Training is incomparable as this Instructor has anatomy training through her years working with Chiropractors, and Master Yoga Instructors, and is "Hands On."
I was so impressed with Caitlin's ability to be calm and professional but also how fun she made everything! She has a nice balance of faster paced exercises like sun salutations to get your heart rate up and then strengthening poses leading into relaxation techniques. She really listened to my needs and concerns for certain sensitive parts of my body that I'm afraid to re-injure but also pushed me to go further than I thought I could. Her entire vibe made me feel comfortable immediately which is a rare quality to posess. I will definitely be taking more classes from her in the future! Namaste!
