Christy worked with my pitbull and me for four sessions - each an hour long. Not only was the cost incredibly reasonable, but Christy was excellent. My dog had exhibited aggression towards another dog on a leash, and I was seeking Christy's help to work through this and some other quirks. I should also mention here that I had sent my dog to a Stay n' Learn with another trainer and was very unhappy with the results. Christy demonstrated techniques, worked through my own technique, and even utilized her own dogs to work through behaviors. She is wonderfully personable, utilizes a well-balanced approach to training, and was willing and able to work on anything we brought to the table. There is a noticeable positive improvement in my dog's behaviors after four short weeks, and I feel well equipped to manage them going forward. I will certainly use Christy and My Best Buddy Dog Training if I am ever in need again. Highly recommended!!
Ben is a gifted dog trainer. After just a handful of sessions, my dog is better behaved and still lovable!! I love the progress we make each session, and she loves to see him arrive. :)
Amy was so knowledgeable and did a great job training our dog and showing us how to continue the training on our own.
You will think you have a different dog after just one training session with Sully. It is truly amazing what she can do with a dog in actually just minutes. Your dog will start minding immediately.
Danielle is an excellent dog trainer. My dogs and I have taken group classes with her for obedience and agility, and they have also taken semi private lessons in disc. She explains things in a way that is easy to understand and my dogs love her!
Working with Casey has been a truly wonderful experience. He is an amazing trainer. Not only for dogs but for us as we'll. teaching is how to train out dogs and teaching us how to have a relationship with our dogs. He is a great mentor and a great person. Him and his other staff members are a wonderful team and I am grateful to be a part of this journey. Thank you Casey.
I am SO happy I chose Matty B’s Dog Training. I have an 80 lb German Shepherd who didn’t do well on leash and was terrible around other dogs. It would be close to impossible to control him if there was another dog around. I would avoid taking him on walks in fear of seeing another dog. I knew this wasn’t the life I wanted for my dog so I finally decided to get help. I chose the 15 day bootcamp- I was terrified to send my dog away for that long but I am so happy I did. I was regularly updated and sent pictures which was great. You can tell Matt really cares about the dogs he works with. When we picked our boy up, Matt gave us a lesson about everything he had learned the last 2 weeks. We were amazed! Walks are now enjoyable- he is a completely different dog on leash. We now have the confidence of taking our dog in public. We just finished our 2 week followup where Matt came to our house to check on our progress. I highly recommend Matty B’s Dog Training, and plan to utilize his services again in the future.
Shawn has given me complete confidence that I'll be able to better communicate with and understand my dog after he is done with his training. We have completed 1 week of a four-week session, but I already see a huge improvement. Highly recommend.
Kieli has helped us so much! About 3 months ago my husband and I had just about given up on our 4 year old dog April. She was aggressive to the point where she had even biten people. We didn't know where else to turn. After researching dog trainers in our area, we came across any canine. Not knowing what else to do, we emailed her right away. She was so quick to get back to us and to even come meet our dog. Kieli jumped right in to save us! I could go all day about how much Kieli has changed our lives but I will just tell you this. Today our dog April graduated from her training with Kieli! She can now meet strangers, walk off leash, and even hang out in downtown Portsmouth with the world's toughest distractions. We all know have the tools to live a long happy life together. Kieli is like no other and our family will never forget her! Thank you Kieli!!!
amazing amazing amazing!! best dog trainers around. they work with you as the owner just as much to make sure you and your pup have that awesome bond!
Lauren is the dog whisperer! I've had the pleasure of having her work with my dogs as a trainer and a pet sitter. I has to go out of town and needed a pet sitter for my previous dog that suffered from cancer and needed extra accommodations. Lauren came and spent the night with her and gave me updates throughout the evening and next day until I came home. She is so loving and caring for animals. It felt great to be able to trust her with my baby. My pup lost her battle with cancer. My husband and I got a new puppy and we had Lauren come out and train her. We were amazed at what Lauren taught our dog to do within 5 minutes! She was able to sit, high five, lay down, and stay! Amazing! I highly recommend Lauren for pet sitting and training! Thank you Trinity Tails!
I enjoyed working with Amy because she provided a wealth of information and good direction for training our rescue dog. She really took the time to get to know my dog, and to understand my training needs and goals. And with a great sense of humor, she was able to make training fun!
My company produces large expos for pet lovers across the country. As a result, Ive met literally thousands of dog trainers, from Anchorage to Miami and Boston to San Francisco - and gotten more advice than Id like from many of them. I can confidently say that Erin Wigginton, owner and head trainer of Helping Hounds Training, is one of the very best and she quite literally changed our lives. I originally reached out to Erin because my canine soulmate, Enzo, had become fear reactive and I knew it was only a matter of time until someone was seriously injured by him; hed become a very dangerous dog and could no longer be trusted. Even though I had originally been working with another trainer, who talked a lot about rehabilitation and being balanced, dog psychology, being the pack leader and making sure I was the alpha, the original problems I had sought help for (Enzo behaving like a normal six-month teenage brat), ended up becoming much much worse. One of the first things that this trainer did was fit Enzo for a pinch collar and the second thing that he did was show me how to properly snap the lead to correct any undesirable behavior or even to prevent an anticipated unwanted behavior. I really hated how Enzo yelped with each correction. When I expressed concern, I was told that it was simply doggie drama" and that the collar didnt really hurt him; it was just like the correction that a mother dog gives her puppies and it was meant to get his attention - that if I didnt buck up and start acting like a pack leader, like the human alpha I should be, Enzo would turn into a monster. According to the trainer, the problem wasnt with Enzo at all - the problem was with me. In the meantime, Enzo started displaying some new and scary behaviors, like lunging and growling at strangers and anything human in shape, including sculptures and statues, and no longer enjoyed his daily walks. And he absolutely terrified of his trainer - like pee on himself when the trainer arrives scared. I decided that I didnt care about any theory or rehabilitation, I cared about Enzos well-being, so I fired our trainer and began searching for options that I hoped could help make Enzo whole again. The more I read, the more I learned, the more (legitimate) canine behavior experts I spoke to, I came to realize that Enzo wasnt being trained by his former trainer, he was being bullied, terrorized and abused. After a ton of research on Helping Hounds and their training methods, I thought that they might be the answer to our prayers. Erin was a very different type of trainer and proved to be everything that I had hoped for: patient, understanding, kind and respectful of Enzos needs. Enzo loved her immediately - and most importantly - Erin loved him right back. As a result of her patient work with building Enzos confidence and educating both of us on how to better understand one another, my boy is now a happy and healthy canine who no longer lives in constant fear of strangers. Erin believed in him and believed in us and I cant even tell you how much that means to me - and Enzo. I made some big mistakes - HUGE mistakes - with Enzos early training and may never get over the guilt; I can promise you that if you introduce Erin to your own best friend, youll be nothing but happy and your canine companion will thank you for it.
Jen is a superb dog trainer and simply a great person to work with. Jen came highly recommended through a personal friend and end up as one our family friends. She is caring, compassionate, skilled, reliable and dependable, trustworthy. Though we are not in active training mode( she worked with our family and Louie, our labradoodle for a year) she is still is our go- to person to care for Louie when we are out of town. Our family marveled every lesson as Louie, our willfull and very independently minded dog would snap to attention the second she walked in our door. She is great. The dog whisperer has nothing on her.... Hire her.... You will be happy you did and so will your pup!
Pawsitively Awesome! Trainers are really personable, they also really care about you and your dog learning together and having fun! Highly recommend any class offered here.
There is simply no one in the Saint Louis area better qualified to help you with your dog training needs. Her classes are fun and effective, her one-on-one training is amazing. Early Animal Education is absolutely my go-to for all the help I ever need with my dogs - and I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, too.
The Howliday Inn was probably one of the single great finds I have ever had as a dog mom! I have two rescue dogs that needed some human socialization skills along with a few other needs making it difficult to find a boarding place I could trust. Both of my furballs can be slightly timid and shy but I saw such major improvements once they started boarding, going to day camp, just plain spending time at the Inn with the help of their highly personable and skilled trainer, Jonathan! I work absolutely anything but normal business hours and everyone at Howliday Inn always tries to help accommodate not only me but my pups. I get updates whenever I get anxious about being away from them without hesitation from any of the staff. I could go on and on but I can't say anything but wonderful things about the Howliday Inn and how thankful I am to know that my furry kids are in great hands!

I do basic training for small and large dogs, working one-on-one with clients and their dog to have a better understanding of their dog's potential and ability to respond to basic commands. Every breed has the ability to learn and adapt to their environment, and it is up to us to provide a standard progression of learning. It takes about 10 minutes a day over a period of a few weeks. Having been a school teacher, I try to provide the same type of environment that is conducive to the student's/dog's learning potential. We build a relationship with our pets that lasts a lifetime. I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon! Sincerely, Harry Fleming
I use a positive approach in training. This mean I reward them for doing things they do right to teach them what is acceptable behaivors. In training this way you receive a more rewarding out come.
