My daughter takes voice lessons and participates in theater at Stacey De and Co. We couldn't be more thrilled with everyone there, from the professional front desk staff Bre, outstanding director Sean, absolutely irreplaceable Melissa, and of course the heart and soul of this great place Stacey. The time my daughter spends at Stacey De and Co. every week is her favorite time of her week. In a completely non-stressful, family-like environment, she is stretched to really push her limits, is taught life lessons like the value of hard work and the ability to accept constructive criticism/evaluation and then improve on those things, and so very much more. She leaves every lesson and rehearsal a little more confident, learned, and determined to succeed...all in an environment of happiness, laughter, encouragement. I don't know what else one could look for in a fine arts school. My daughter and I both love it here.
It is one thing to work with adults, and another thing entirely to work with kids. Beth worked with my son, and about 130 other middle school kids to put on truly remarkable performances working for only a few hours after school for less than two months. She not only kept them motivated and focused, but instilled extraordinary lessons for both stage and life. The performances were excellent...and it is perhaps more telling that the kids all want to do it again!
James McDunn had been teaching my 3 girls piano for at least 3 years. They love him and they are making gigantic leaps and strides in their studies. I highly recommend Jamey for piano lessons.
Brad gave my daughter singing lessons for a couple years, he was also both my children's choir director in high school. Brad is an excellent instructor, who had unlimited patience , encouragement, and a superior knowledge on how to bring out the most in each of his students. I can't say enough about Brad's instructing skills!
Christian's disciplined practice in rehearsing and auditioning is one of the many useful tools he has to offer in his teaching. Whether a person is looking for guidance in auditioning or mastering an existing role, Christian can give them techniques based on their strengths and weaknesses. His methods of running lines, analyzing a character, and etiquette for an audition are invaluable assets for any student.
I was able to send my children to his acting methods course. They were so excited when them came home. They told my husband and I all that they learned and how much fun they had at the seminar. It was a wonderful experience for them along with tons of help they can use. I would recommend his acting course for all.
I was very nervous to start one on one acting lessons but the first moment I met Kelly it all seemed to wash away. She made me feel instantly comfortable and she was very energetic. She made me feel important and loved. I think that's what makes a great teacher. I highly recommend her!
Leila really showed me techniques that other teachers merely skim the surface; I was able to give a strong, thruthful audition that landed me the role! Leila also showed me how I need to market myself (what type works well for me and how to work WITH that type). Working with her was invaluable and some of the most rewarding lessons I've learned in acting and preparation!:)
My son loves taking piano lessons with Ms Kim!
Our performing arts studio in Mount Kisco, Ny hired Kieran to create a film for our film acting class. He met the students, did some improv and other experimental type theatre games and from that interaction with them, wrote a screenplay, directed and edited the film. He shot the entire film as well, all in our studio and using just one other location spot. He was amazing with the kids. And I could not have been happier with the final result. He had a gift with very quickly assessing each child and created a part for them in the movie that made them shine on camera. This was especially impressive to me because some of the children were shy and /or had no acting experience, but on film each child looked like a pro! And as the studio owner, I can tell you he was great to work with, always on time, always prepared. This was especially impressive to me because he was also traveling back and forth on the train to NYC auditioning and booking his own acting jobs as well as being a husband and incredible father to his 2 young daughters. With all this, he still had a vision for our film project from day 1 and was very methodical about seeing it through. He was also courteous to receive input from me when I saw things that I thought might need a tweak and then would make adjustments accordingly or explain to me why we needed to leave it as it was. The day Kieran told me he and his family were moving to Chicago, I cried inside! NY's loss of Kieran Campion is definitely Chicago's gain!

I am an EXPERIENCED professional performer, and I teach from that perspective as well as from the perspective of an experienced teacher. I have performed all over the world - different genres of music - and I can perform under all sorts of "interesting" conditions. I have a graduate degree in BOTH performance and pedagogy (which means teaching). I have sung musical theatre as well as opera, so I can teach and understand both genres. I have played the piano professionally as an accompanist for violinists, singers, wind players and more, so my understanding of piano is also quite varied. I also speak and understand Italian and German, which can especially help when teaching opera. I have an ability to help make my students feel quite comfortable quickly and to help them to find THEIR UNIQUE talent. ALL of us have something unusual and special to bring to our music. :-) Let's find it!
