Introduction: Holy Goat Percussion, founded by Michael Taylor, a djembe player, educator, performer and recording artist, is a highly personalized company, specializing in drum sales of authentic djembe and dunun drums from West Africa (as well as repairs of those drums), special events, workshops and performances, as well as sales of the two instructional DVDs that he has authored.
As the director of Tam Tam Mandingue-Chicago, Taylor also teaches classes in traditional West African djembe and dunun in the style of grand master of djembe, Mamady Keita, from Guinea, West Africa.
His classes have been called energetic, informative, engaging and amazing by his thousands of students in the United States and internationally, since he began playing djembe in 1994.

I got to Taylor's class every Saturday, and have a great time! We learn to play each drum part of a rhythm. It is part history lesson and carrying on tradition of the song. In his class you can drop in and be able to play with no experience necessary! I think everyone should try one class, because you might be surprised how you like! you get to go away with worldly knowledge from a worldly man who has patience and fun all in one!
