FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I am always attending seminars (online and master classes), researching new makeup artists, watching their techniques, reading up on what products are used on celebrities and what products are new on the market. I complete certification classes for topics that I want to really master. I think it's so important to keep up with the trends, products and makeup techniques.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was 18 I loved the way the girls at MAC did their hair and makeup. They always looked so crisp and just perfect. I tried and tried to figure out their secret, but really there was no secret- they just knew their face and eye shape so well and how to emphasize their favorite features. They practiced and learned. And so I did the same, except I wanted to help other women achieve this as well. And so I practiced on others in addition to myself and enjoyed freelancing much more than a makeup sales job.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I mostly do special occasions, and bridal. I do a lot of airbrushing for brides, and HD foundations for bridesmaids and other clients.
