I have had the pleasure to work with and witness Joe Ortega on multiple projects over the past 10 years. I first found Joe when I was looking for a muralist to paint a huge mural in the gymnasium of the school where I taught. I had researched many local artists but had not found that special quality I was looking for. At the local paint store, there was a mural of men working and I noticed that even on this small project, there was a great attention to quality and detail. I got Joe’s name from the store owner and began looking into his work. After reviewing his other projects, I quickly discovered that Joe was the artist I wanted for my project. Working with and commissioning Joe Ortega was a pleasurable experience. I have found it frustrating in the past when working with artistic people to accomplish projects. Joe was patient throughout the process. It takes a special skill in an artist to work with non-artistic individuals and create a work of art. Joe had a unique way of listening to my ideas and making them a reality beyond my expectations. I was so impressed that I used Joe for a second mural at my school. I also recommended Joe for a home project for a neighbor of mine. This was a completely different type of project, but again, Joe’s artistry and professionalism shown through. The house was completely transformed into a beautiful and luxurious home. I have no reservations recommending Joe for any project that you may be considering. Sincerely, Anthony GarciaMar 8, 2018
Ortega was hired to paint an original mural in a restaurant. He was a creative genius, on time and very easy to work with, which is not always the case with artists.Feb 8, 2017
Joe is simply the best. We have been working with him for a few years now and his work is outstanding. He is a rare talented and true artist. All of the projects he has done for us are amazing and treasured! We love Joe and appreciate how he takes it to the next level!Feb 13, 2017
Eulojio (Joe) Ortega took on a very large mural project that our Arts Guild commissioned to commemorate the history of Kendall County, Illinois, to be placed above the entrance to our county courthouse. He did extensive research for the project and then produced an image that took our breath away. Joe's work is always beautiful, but also incorporates surprising elements incorporated in subtle ways. If you want an outstanding piece of art that will stand the test of time, and thrill your soul, you could not do better! Peggy McWethy Sutton, President, Kendall Arts GuildFeb 8, 2017
