I have taken some amazing Yoga Nidra classes with Laura-Savita. I was profoundly relaxed by the end of the classes and suspect that regular attendance in her class will continue to have a fantastic benefit. She is a wonderful instructor!
Vidya is a wonderful yoga instructor. She make everyone feel like they are her only concern. She watches to make sure you are doing the moves properly and asks questions to see if you are aware of your moves and what they do for your well being. I started practicing Yoga at the Himalayan Meditation Center about four years ago and loved Elizabeth's enthusiasm, knowledge, and love of yoga. Her accessible style suits beginners and advanced practitioners alike. She takes her time to ensure students are doing the poses properly, and encourages them to challenge themselves in each class. Elizabeth's positive and calming energy makes me feel invigorated and relaxed after leaving class. Under her attentive guidance, I greatly improved my balance, flexibility, breathing and health.
Danielle's yoga classes are fantastic! I especially like the restorative ones with sound and scent--unique and extra-relaxing. Also, she's a Reiki Master and Tibetan Sound Healer--what an awesome combination! She is most skilled--I highly recommend her.
Deirdre brings so many things into the teaching of yoga ~ every week her class is different practice, so the attention and focus varies each week. She teaches you different poses and uses props. She teaches and explains different breathing practices. She explains how certain poses benefit a certain body part, or she'll explain about different muscles. At the end of the practice, sometimes Deirdre will read a short poem or beautiful saying. Other times she'll give a shoulder press at the end of class and use essential oils. In all, Deirdre incorporates the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga all in one practice. Highly recommended teacher!
My girlfriend and did a private yoga session with Mo last weekend. The studio is very intimate, and as always, Mo was an amazing host. I have never enjoyed yoga as it's difficult for me to achieve many of the positions. My girlfriend is worse than I am and loses patience very quickly in yoga classes. I can honestly say, this was the best yoga experience either of us has ever had. We both left and immediately discussed the next time we'd come back. If you're looking for a very unique and romantic date or if you just want top notch instruction from one of the nicest people in the world, I would highly recommend checking out Awaken Yoga.
I've taken Kris' yoga classes at multiple locations and have always had outstanding experiences. Her classes start with an intention and reading that set the right tone for the entire class and a tie the mind/body/spirit aspects together. She offers very helpful assists, making sure that you get the most out of each pose, and is great for any level yogi-- from beginner to experienced. I would highly recommend her classes!

About Healing Power Yoga At its inception in 1999, Healing Power Yoga was one of the first boutique yoga studios to arrive on the north shore. Founded by Pam Udell, currently owned and run by Gina Evangelista since July 2007. HPY was born out of a desire for pure, healing yoga for the community in an intimate warm and inviting environment. I teach kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. I offer private as well as group classes. Each class includes movement, breathing and meditation/chanting. In my experience as a dancer and teaching body movement for actors, this type of yoga is the most challenging and the most fulfilling.
