I have been training with Chitown trainers for several months. I attend the yoga classes and utilize the personal training service. The trainers are extremely professional and competent. The training has been the best training experience I have had because they work at your level and gradually build your tolerance and strength. I have experienced change in my ability to run, lift weight and my balance. I highly recommend their services, they are simply excellent!
I hired Mary to be a yoga instructor for my fitness retreat, and she was the perfect fit. She tailored the class for our needs (gentle yoga for sore muscles). I've done yoga for years with several different instructors, and I believe she is a wonderful teacher!
Yoga with Masha is both energizing & calming. She provides a non judgmental yoga space. Her cues allow me to achieve better alignment & get the most out of every pose. Masha's thoughtful inspirational words add to my overall yoga experience.
Tara has been my yoga instructor for nearly 12 years. I take group classes 1-2 days a week, she is incredibly patient & aware of individual needs. I have enjoyed her classes & the health benefits that they have given me. I would never use another yoga instructor, she is awesome.
Jessica is a wonderful personal trainer. I appreciate that she comes to my home and is flexible with my busy work schedule. She incorporates weight training, yoga, Pilates, and high and low intensity cardio. She pushes me appropriately and always seems to know just what I need!
Loukia is an OUTSTANDING yoga teacher! I really value her knowledge, dedication, and passion for yoga. She has taught me to truly embrace the present moment on and off the yoga mat. Loukia’s teaching style and professionalism are second to none. I highly recommend Erini Yoga!! 10/10
My experience with Lymphatic Drainage and Healing Touch performed by Dr. Sylvia Hood Washington I believe had a positive effect on reducing inflammation in my body. The few days after therapy I noticed less aches and pain in my muscles & joints. I hold a lot of stress related tension in my muscles, so it was great to have some relief. During the therapy Dr. Sylvia kept me informed with what she was doing and why she was doing it. I liked how she integrated different modalities along with the lymphatic draining. She incorporated some yoga stretching and breathing as well as healing touch techniques. On top of relieving some of my inflammatory muscle and joint pain, Dr.Sylvia found an inflamed lymph node under my arm. It was likely inflamed because I was feeling on the verge of a virus. She was able to drain the lymph node and we could no longer feel an inflamed lump under my arm. I believe this procedure helped me to beat the virus that never transpired. In addition to being a Certified Lymphatic Therapist, Dr. Sylvia has vast knowledge and expertise in the medical field as an Environmental Epidemiologist and Public Health Professional. She has the ability to treat a person holistically while helping them discover how their environment may be affecting their health issues. I would highly recommend Dr. Sylvia Hood Washington as a Nautropathic Doctor for Lymphatic Wellness.
We were hooked from the very 1st session. Trayci’s knowledge of yoga and individualized attention is top notch. She is a wonderful instructor with a great personality and we are so grateful to have found her.
Training is incomparable as this Instructor has anatomy training through her years working with Chiropractors, and Master Yoga Instructors, and is "Hands On."
Over the years I’ve taken many yoga classes and have known many teachers, but it was not until I discovered a certified teacher of Iyengar yoga, the type Amy teaches, that I finally realized how beneficial yoga could be. Iyengar yoga is designed to help people with a wide range of abilities acquire the correct balance and positioning that enable the body to function at its best. For this reason, Iyengar yoga can be undertaken by women or men, children or older adults, and even people with disabilities, because an experienced teacher can tailor the person’s practice for any special needs or level of ability. My first Iyengar teacher moved away, and for a long time I feared I would never find anyone that good again. Then one day I read an article about Amy in the paper, and the long search was over. Like my first teacher, Amy has the ability to instantly spot whatever adjustment a student might need and can supply a wide range of aids to make a pose work for that person. She has a warm, welcoming personality, endless patience, and a good sense of humor. Our class can be challenging, but it’s always rewarding.
CurvyChick Yoga is patient and flexible. She explains everything throughly and helps to give to just the right push in order to get you out of your comfort zone and to your next level. I highly recommend this business!
Hadley was my first yoga instructor, and though I do go to other classes, she's still the most caring, attentive and personable teacher. She's great at helping me go beyond what I'm currently able to do and provides excellent encouragement and support.
Wow what can I say...I was always that guy that thought yoga was for women only. Man was I wrong. Samantha did an amazing job at balancing the support and education with the push I needed. She has such a radiant personality and she brings her sense of humor into her practice. As a former college football player all I did was strength train. Working with Samantha for a few months has me feeling not only more flexible but stronger. Most importantly I have to continue to focus on BREATHING! Namasté
Loved taking Amy’s Pilates Surfboard class! Not only was she super fun she explained the moves very well!
Yoga with Marti is a great way to start your day, always leaving you feeling refreshed with a sense of accomplishment!
I help people to feel better through restorative yoga poses, essential oils, meditation, breathing, massage, stretching, and many other modalities.
I offer private, small group and corporate sessions for all levels of yoga. I provide emphasis on alignment and helping people of all abilities to live their yoga on and off their mats.
I believe yoga is accessible to all! Whether you have no experience or are an advanced practitioner I am happy to help you expand your practice. My teaching style incorporates aspects of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga; however I am comfortable teaching multiple styles including: gentle, chair, Yin & restorative yoga and more vigorous power yoga or yogalates (optional weights & props used). Experience deep relaxation with guided meditation or yoga nidra (yogic sleep). I use pranayama (breath), my study of Zen & meditation, and various other techniques to lead you to a calm state of deep peace. I am also a certified Reiki master. Reiki treatments allow you to tap into the infinitely abundant universal energy available to us all. Having been known to help heal, relax, and revive the body. Reiki can also aid in helping you to feel more balanced and connected inside & out! My deep respect for the ancient teachings of yoga, meditation & reiki work together to keep integrity in every aspect of the practice through intention, truth & faith.
My goal is to teach and convey mental and emotional harmony by creating a flow with the breath and movement, encouraging strength through the body and mind. My joy is to teach classes in sequences that will best suit you and your group while giving you the most benefits (stress relief, flexibility, muscle tone, etc.).
If you think that learning to touch your toes or even standing on your head is the whole of yoga, you have missed most of its bounty, most of its blessings, and most of its beauty. Yoga releases the creative potential of life. The light that yoga sheds on life is something special; it is transformative. It does not just change the way we see things; it transforms the person who sees. It brings knowledge and elevates it to wisdom. - Sri B.K.S. Iyengar I started my yoga practice at McGaw YMCA in Evanston, Illinois at the ripe age of 20. My first teacher was a sweet Dutch lady named Ine. If you want to know yoga before yoga was a brand, please go visit Ine at the YMCA. She's an absolute delight and yoga in its purest form. I am a registered hatha yoga instructor through the Temple of Kriya in Chicago. I graduated in 2006 and began teaching the day after. I currently lead group classes downtown Chicago and work with private clients building personalized yoga programs. Passionate about my personal practice as a student and teacher, I try to bring humor and lightness to my classes. A perfect class for me would have lots of child poses and a super long savasana. Of course, a few planks and boat poses would add a nice balance. In my yoga practice, I employ numerous styles of hatha and vinyasa flow. As well, I completed training with The Global Yoga Center prenatal yoga teacher program. I have trained with Baron Baptiste, Kathryn Budig, Seane Corn, Suddha Weixler and other esteemed yoga instructors. I am a 200hr registered yoga teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance.
