We found a great fit you my son together. He's Math test scores went up within the first two sessions! -Make this investment.
It's crucial for the student (especially teenagers) to connect with the tutorer and I can say without hesitation Wendi does? Not only does Wendi instruct on content, she encourages and teaches strategies. My son's pretest score for the ACT was 19 and after only four weeks of prep improved to 25. Wendi is truly a blessing to our family!
Jeff was working with my son on getting ready for ACT this year. My son is a junior at high school. He is a good student, however, wasn't satisfied with his initial ACT score. We found Jeff through Thumbtack based on customer reviews. I'm glad we did. After several lessons with Jeff, my son's ACT score went 5 points up. Jeff is great about building lessons around subjects and topics that require more attention. The test taking strategies that he teaches are definitely very helpful. Jeff is very punctual and responsible. He was willing to accommodate my son's busy schedule. I highly recommend Jeff to students (and parents) who are looking for help with ACT and SAT.
Bertina was my daughter’s ACT Prep Tutor last semester. Bertina gave her the confidence and encouragement I was looking for. She was always positive; and it was definitely a team effort between them. She was very flexible with our study sessions and kept me in the loop about my daughter’s progress. She is a very kind and polite person and would be wonderful for any age group.
Guy truly cared about helping my son achieve his full potential on the ACT test. Highly recommend! He is very knowledgeable in tutoring and test preparation!
Kevin is the most outstanding tutor I have ever met or even ever spoken with. He is a retired physician who had great teachers during his career and now works with students to try and have a positive influence on their lives. My son did both high school Math and Science tutoring with him AND also did ACT test preparation with him. My son's ACT scores went from 24 before working with Kevin to 33 after working with him for just 3 months! I cannot speak more highly of him. If you want your son or daughter to really excel - you better at least meet with this guy! Darren G. Northbrook, IL
I've been working with Suzanne for about three months now, and I'm so pleased with my progress in that short time! As an adult student who hasn't played in nearly 20 years, it's an understatement to say I'm rusty. Suzanne has patiently done a great job of working with me to assess my current skill level, build on my past experience, and work toward steady improvement in each week's lesson. She also set up lessons for my specific goals. Im never going to be a concert pianist I just want to re-learn my technical skills and get back to regular, comfortable, confident playing. Shes perfectly fine with that unlike some teachers who push you to be someone you are not, or who are only comfortable with competitive students. As someone who squeezes lessons and practice into a very hectic schedule, I also appreciate that she understands when, in some weeks, I make more progress than others. Ive had several teachers over the years. What sets Suzanne apart is that she suggests music for me, but also encourages me to trust my own intuition and preferences about what I'm ready to play. Shes direct but patient in her teaching style, praising what is working well, but clearly pointing out technique or practice approaches that will help the music get better faster. I also understand she conducts annual, optional recitals, which is great for building confidence and meeting new people. In terms of the teaching experience, Suzannes home studio is lovely, with two Yamaha pianos - one an upright, one a baby grand, both with beautiful voices. It's very rewarding to have the option to play both. From a scheduling standpoint, she conveniently texts for scheduling changes, and shes flexible when lesson times inevitably have to change. The true test for me is that my family and friends have all commented on how much progress Ive made in the last few months. Even my 5-year-old says, You play beautifully, Mama. Im back to practicing every day, enjoying the unique stress relief and satisfaction of making your own music. All thanks to Suzanne!
Ramona truly is an excellent teacher. Since her job also involves a lot of calculation and physics, she really knows what she is talking about, which also gives her the ability to explain things in a very logical and understandable way. After preparing for tests together with Ramona I’ve never felt unsafe or unprepared. My grades also experienced a great increase after starting to work with her.
Our son has been working with Carol for over 6 months preparing for the ACT test and also receiving subject-area tutoring in geometry, English/Reading and Earth Science. Carol is very professional, extremely smart, wonderful to work with and has demonstrated her ability to work effectively with secondary students at all skill levels, including those with special needs and current IEPs. Carol has helped our son prepare for the ACT in all subjects and provided detailed strategies, not only for test preparation, but for each element of the exam. She uses teaching, demonstration, practice and testing as an intertwined process that has really benefitted our son. Last semester, he earned a 4.0 for the first time and made the National Honor Society. Carol also is wonderful with homework, projects, and writing assignments. Her background in education is AMAZING. She not only has multiple degrees and certifications, but has an extremely high IQ, and has extensive knowledge of both high school and college curricula. We highly recommend Carol, and urge others to utilize her expertise, experience and her wonderful personality with kids for all your family's tutoring and testing needs. During my junior year of high school, I was struggling to improve my math and science scores on the ACT. But after being referred to Hntsa, my scores quickly improved. Hntsa was able to use visual learning and cogent explanations to help me better understand how to tackle this test. Hntsa believed that practice questions were the key to success; his methods proved to be greatly beneficial. I would attempt practice questions while he was there to patiently explain how to solve the problems when I got stuck. His line of thinking helped to improve the way I looked at the test, and I credit him to significantly improving my scores. Thanks, Hntsa!!
Tim did a great job with my daughter preparing for the ACT. He helped with strategies for the test as well as with getting in the proper frame of mind for preparing and taking the test. He is very flexible with scheduling and extremely responsive. With his excellent coaching, she raised her score from 31 to 34. He is a fantastic tutor.
Both of our children attended their clinic, and we are very pleased with the results. Our daughter is much more prepared for high school, especially relative to the standardized tests, and our son needed the extra focus while in grammar school. We are very appreciative.
Steve is a wonderful tutor. After only 6 lessons with Steve, our son was able to earn a composite score of 34 the first (and only) time he took the ACT, including 35's in Science and Math. Our son was so happy to have worked with Steve before sitting for the ACT,as he now has the ACT behind him and can focus on his classes and other school activities, rather than on testing and test prep. We very much appreciated how comfortable our son was working with Steve and how confident he felt going into the test.
My daughter became more confident in her math skills. She was able to raise her Math ACT score after tutoring.
We wanted my 7th grade son to strengthen his writing skills over the summer. With high school quickly approaching, we were hoping for him to enter with solid writing skills so his focus could be on the content of his work without struggles with language and structure. Kendra Hadnott was the perfect person to help him with this. Every part of her process is unique and customized. We started with a meeting to define our goals. Not only did she focus on our objectives, but also our child’s overall interests. He is obsessed with soccer and it was exciting as we sat down the next week to go over her tutoring plan for the summer how she incorporated reading and writing work that included his favorite soccer players, his friends, current teen technology, and more. He was thrilled to write about these topics and was really engaged in her lessons. Throughout the summer they worked on everything from spelling, vocabulary, grammar, language use, sentence structure, and essay structure. Each time they met I received a progress report on his accomplishments. He went into eighth grade with improved confidence and it showed in his writing. He tested into Honors English at OPRF and we are certain that Kendra’s tutoring helped to get him to that level. He will continue to work with her this summer to be certain he will hit the ground running next year. I highly recommend Kendra for your child’s tutoring. She is extremely professional, engaging, and it is evident that working with children is her calling.
I am an older student returning to college after being out of school for 18 years! My first course I'm taking is algebra. The word problems have been giving me quite a bit of issues. Tonight she explained them in a way that made sense, let me perform them, and corrected me if I was making a mistake. Also, she explained why I was making the mistake and how to fix it. I walked away from the session much more comfortable and feeling capable to pass this class now. Furthermore, her rate is very reasonable and worth every penny. I would definitely recommend her for tutoring.
We brought in Navin to help our daughter for her preparation with SAT prep with just a month left. Navin was very flexible to begin with driving down to our home or holding the class at his place. As days progressed Navin helped us narrow down on what we needed to focus on and drilled down the concepts. My daughter would look forward to the class as she realized that her skills were getting stronger and stronger and I attribute that Navin's calm and passionate approach to teaching. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I highly recommend Navin.
Mr. K's math camp was a wonderful addition to the Price Hill and surrounding communities as well as Price Hill Recreation Center, where the program was conducted. He produced amazing results with some of our most challenging kids. Mr. K combined Montessori, holistic theory and common sense to help focus kids so they could learn and bring up test results. As both parents and kids enthusiastically embraced this program, it was always well attended. The only downside was, the program had to end due to a loss of funding. We certainly miss the Math Camp as it excellently served our littlest citizens in a comprehensive and very caring way.
Michelle worked with my 4 year old so to prep him for kindergarten due to him not being in preschool. He enjoyed her company, and she was a pleasure to have. I highly recommend her.
Mrs.Morris tutored me in the subject Reading in preparation for my second try at the ACT standardized test. My score increased by 3 increasing my overall score by 2 points. I was very pleased considering I had only had one session with her. I would recommend her services to anyone.
