Aly's Tutoring

Introduction: I am currently a senior at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where I work three jobs and plan to graduate in December 2015 with a general Bachelor's of Arts and a minor in Psychology. My BA is a general major, but entails over 100 credit hours in education and special education courses. Also, I have completed over 50 hours of observation in a functional classroom at Warren Township High School. During my time at SIUC I have had the opportunity to work as a library assistant at Morris Library and a research assistant for the Tracking Rare Incidence Syndromes project which seeks to increase awareness and knowledge for families and professionals touched by rare trisomy conditions and aims to facilitate improved decision making for optimal services and supports for affected children and their families. Additionally, I work as an academic and functional coach for Options Transition to Independence, a transition to independence facility which works with young adult with disabilities ages 18-21. Over the summer, I plan to challenge myself by working with child and young adults in a variety of academic and functional skills. I believe these experiences and my knowledge will help individuals in need of more support academically and/or functionally and socially. Note, I am not a licensed special education teacher at the moment, but I have experience and determination to help your child as needed.
