Introduction: Artistry by Melissa Marie was created by myself after following my own dream to lead my own team of industry professionals, and continue to build love for ourselves and others through makeup. Artistry by Melissa Marie provides the following services: *Professional makeup application (film, fashion, multi-media, HDTV, SPFX, beauty, and theatrical) *Professional bridal makeup application (styles include American, European, Asian, Arabic, and Indian) *Professional airbrush makeup application *Professional wardrobe styling (film, fashion, beauty, special events, and recreation) *Professional hairstyling (film, fashion, beauty, special events, and recreation) I had always been interested in the beauty and fashion industry since a very young age, and knew I would be involved in building love for ourselves and others through makeup. I started in the industry as a self-taught makeup artist. I've studied through books, seminars, multimedia, print, from other makeup artists, and of course from plenty of practice. With much training and dedication, I achieved success as I have had my work published in both film and print. As I feel strongly about self-development, I decided to attend London Eyes Academy, which has been a leader in makeup artistry. My experience there offered me an extensive study of traditional makeup styles, as well as some of the newest and most innovative techniques to arise from the ever-changing industry. My artistry has been seen by many and am seen as possessing a diverse perspective and skill-set. I am deeply passionate about my profession and about the ability I possess to highlight a person's natural beauty through the art of makeup and my workmanship. When I worked with melissa gonzalez as her model I thought she was doing great. I loved my makeup. She took her time and did exactly what I wanted. The photo shoot she did turned out great. The photos were beautiful. I would definitely work for melissa again if she needed me.

Melissa did my makeup and hair. Her work is PHENOMENAL. She has great skill with makeup and it's amazing, especially because most of what she knows she taught herself. Everything went perfect and we were both extremely happy with the outcome, my makeup worked great with my face as well as the hair. The hair and makeup really went hand in hand. Melissa has great potential.

I worked with Melissa last Sunday and she did make up for five models. Melissa did a great job and each model looked stunning! Melissa is very organized and professional, as well as very sweet. I really hope to work with her again!

What types of customers have you worked with?
As I am the leader of Artistry by Melissa Marie and founder I have an opportunity that I've always dreamed of. Makeup Artistry is a passion but I also work in other areas of the fashion industry as well. With Chicago land becoming a mecca for Fashion and beauty I take part of each industry with my favorite being Bridal. Having the opportunity to take part in my client's special day and providing her with an extraordinary experience is key. Not only are my expectations met but my client's expectations are not only reached but are surpassed with my true artistry.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Advice that I would share with a customer especially a possible client is that education in my profession of Makeup Artistry is extremely important. Certification is highly recommended because this is a confirmation that your artist has received all of the knowledge and training received to provide an exceptional service. Makeup is not just pressing products on a canvas but really strategizing what products and techniques are needed for your specific canvas and your skin type to achieve complete perfection.
