Veronica has been my yoga teacher, and as such, a teacher of life, for years. She's smart, sympathetic, skilled, but most of all caring. She has a tremendous heart, the light of which reflects on everything she does. I can't recommend her enough, as a teacher or a doula who is fun, challenging, luminous and nurturing to body and spirit.

My labor was a positive experience because Kim was there. She was so attentive to the details to ensure that I was as comfortable as possible but in a gentle and unobtrusive manner. Her quiet attentiveness and caring presence made the contractions hurt less and lifted what was seemingly a huge burden from me. I think I'll always remember the long stages when I was half asleep in the hospital during painful contractions and knowing she was there. It was a great comfort and a blessing. She respected our wishes, worked towards that aim and ensured that the medical team were aware and understood what we wanted. She was 100 percent professional in all she said and did throughout the prenatal period, labor & delivery. Kim really cares for women and their families and I highly recommend her to anyone I know who is pregnant. In fact I recommended her to a couple who were pregnant for the first time soon after my labor and they also are still raving about her. Like me they say that they couldn't have gone through the labor and birth if it hadn't been for Kim. Labor can be a very vulnerable time for both women and their partners but having a doula like Kim makes all the difference. She is excellent!

September 10, 2012 was one of the most amazing days of my life. My beautiful daughter, Neva Elizabeth was born. My birth was drug and intervention free, exactly the way my husband and I had pictured it. A big part of this birth experience for us was our wonderful Doula, Deb Lawrence. She was available any time I needed her for questions, concerns, advice and support. She was calm, kind, respectful and extremely knowledgeable. I will use her again for my next birth as she has a big place in my heart now. The day of my birth she arrived around 2:00 pm, my contractions had been going on and off all weekend and I was frustrated! I was more concerned though because I was having bad back labor and feeling the baby kick in a different spot then I usually do. Deb thought that the baby had moved into a posterior position. When she arrived she began to do things to "turn" the baby into a better position so that I would not have back labor. She had me do a bunch of stretches and movements. Within minutes my back labor felt a lot better. We settled in on the couch and she talked softly while rubbing my back. Soon contractions really picked up and were coming every 3 minutes they were hard contractions but Deb made them VERY manageable with her "floppy soggy" relaxation techniques. Soon she decided we needed to go to the hospital, my husband quickly packed the car and she insisted she ride with us and sit with me in the back seat. I was going through transition at this time I think and sitting in a four door car back set was not the most comfortable place but Deb kept me calm and as relaxed as possible as we drove the 25 minutes to CDH. I was eight centimeters when we arrived!! Deb made sure all the hospital staff and nurses were respectful of my birth plan and natural birth wishes. She continued to make sure that I was comfortable and included my husband in all of her relaxation techniques, always knowing new positions and things to tell me in her calm voice that kept me in a happy zone. When it came time to push she was the one that suggested that I use the squat bar to let gravity do a lot of the work with me. My baby was born within 20 minutes! She took pictures and made sure no one took my daughter for at least an hour to do her weight etc... Deb was the one that put her on my breast and got her nursing within 5 minutes of her being born. She stayed with us until we were settled and made sure we did not need anything. I credit her a lot for making Neva's birth so magical, I look back on that day often and wish I could go back and relive those amazing moments when I got to hold my sweet girl for the very first time. I will for sure use Deb again at my next birth and cannot wait!
