I had a few lessons with Marina, to improve my written English. My English is very advanced but I needed help with writing. She was extraordinary at the job, she has a great feeling for the language.

After completing the ACT prep course at Learning Ascent, my son got a composite score of 30. English: 32, Math: 33, Reading: 29, and Science: 26. He took the writing portion too, but we do not have results for that yet. Prior to tutoring, his score on a practice ACT test was a 26. The tutors Sean worked with helped him improve his scores. Overall, very happy with his results!

About

I personalize my approach to the students I am working with. I do not have a 'one-size fits-all" style. This benefits the student because I take a session to get to know them and how they approach reading/writing; I learn their goals and what they think they struggle with. Then we work together to overcome the challenges.

About

I was a home-school mom for over 10 years. So, although I am not a certified teacher, I am a mother who taught and directed three children in how to learn and learn independently. Primary grades are my specialty, especially reading skills, foundational math principles, spelling, and English language basics. While I home educated, I’ve managed an apartment building in Chicago, part-time. I have been managing this property for 24 years. It is a part-time position, and I am seeking additional work at this time. I really like kids (our house is too quiet), and I enjoy helping them get excited about reading and learning. Let me help your kids to lay the solid foundation they will need to love learning for the rest of their lives.

About

Students tell me I'm easy to talk to because I listen to them, then help them see how to improve their writing. As a published author, I've learned how the rewriting process can really improve any piece of writing.
