Stephen is great to work with. He was willing to walk me through buying a guitar and amp to get started. Super excited for my lessons!

My two oldest daughters began taking lessons from Janelda three years ago when they were just 4 and 6 years old. Janelda has the ability to notice each child's unique learning style and tailor the lesson to meet their specific needs and produce an optimum learning experience. She is patient and creative when teaching, which benefited my younger daughter especially since most 4 - 6 year olds don't have a 30 minute attention span. She utilizes teaching tools such as the "piano carpet" which gave my girls the opportunity to move around a bit and learn at the same time. Now that my girls are 7 and 9, Janelda does a wonderful job of mixing theory, technique, and popular music in a way that keeps my children engaged and interested in their lessons. Above all, Janelda's genuine love of music is evident in every lesson she teaches and has fostered that same love of music in my children. While my girls are becoming quite the little pianists, I see the benefits of their lessons in many facets of their lives. My youngest daughter, who recently turned one, can't wait until she is old enough to start piano lessons with Janelda just like her big sisters!

First meeting he was very polite and ready to teach. Willingness to teach a person with no experience. Played some of his own music. Great style of teaching.

I am a guitar/voice student with Bart at Reno's and he's great! I call him "The Song Doctor" because he revives songs I bring in with technique and great ideas! He is an amazing guitarist and patient teacher, even when I struggle. He knows music theory well and can teach this knowledge in an understandable and interesting way. Lessons are fun and non intimidating. Reno's Music is cool and I always feel welcome.

My daughter Samme, age 8, has been taking piano lessons from Mrs. Potter for about 6 months and I am amazed by how much she has learned and how far she's progressed! Mrs. Potter has a wonderful teaching style and really knows how to challenge the kids to improve while having a great time doing it! I highly recommend her as a piano teacher for all ages!

Sabrina is teaching piano to my Kindergarten-aged twins. She is great with young kids and their parents. She's very flexible with her teaching, willing to adapt to the style that fits them best. The lessons have included a conga drum to learn keeping time, as well as opening up the piano to show how the inside works. The learning environment in her home is very relaxing, and helps to calm my very energetic boys. When my boys do get distracted, she can effectively rein them back in or use their curiosity as a teachable moment when appropriate.

About

I teach harmony, theory, counterpoint, aural skills, and solfege. I in other words, I teach foundations and technique of music. I also teach English to speakers of other languages, and I tutor grammar and writing. Other important areas of inquiry and discovery for me are ancient and Homeric Greek and the great books (Plato, Aristotle, Kant, Hume, Wittgenstein, Husserl, etc). I am an excellent and patient teacher. My method is to find out what you know (engage and elicit), introduce a new material with technique to acquire it (study), and then generate some appropriate exercise(s) to apply and use your newly acquired and developing knowledge (activate).

About

I have actively been a part of the Lafayette community -- that is, in the musical department. I participated in Honors Choir and band at Faith Christian School, accompanied soloists for ISSMA as well as for the Bach Chorale Children's summer camp, and have studied privately for over 12 years. I was accepted into the music program at the private University of Indianapolis for music education and enjoyed my time there but am now working towards a management degree at the School of Krannert at Purdue University. Playing piano and singing have always been passions and hobbies of mine, so I would love to try teaching privately again.

About

I am a guitarist/vocalist/bassist with 30 years of recording and live experience in the music scene. I teach basic vocal, bass guitar and guitar instruction. I am experienced with beginner to intermediate guitarists.
